How detrimental would a default of £51.00 from Feb 2010 be on my credit report from BT when applying for credit.

Cheers ;-)

    Hi

Well defualt of £51 is the same as a defualt of £500

Its the DEFUALT thats the thing that effects you and comes off your credit files after 6 years

    feel your pain :(

    hi there

this is happening to me too! i had an account with them from 2008-2009. I paid my final bill, and this week they have added a DEFAULT to my credit file. My report is squeaky clean apart from this. I am so annoyed. My letter is going out in the post tomorrow. Let me know if you have luck. This has me stressed to my wits end. i am just about to apply for a mortgage..... now I cant.....well not at least until this is sorted, and of course.....IF it gets sorted! Good luck

I just thought i'd let you know that I emailed Ian Livingston (CEO of BT) regarding the situtation I am in which is exactly the same as the original poster, and have received a phone call and subsequently an email from his secretary apologising for the distress caused, she said 'its the last thing I need to worry about having just started a new job" etc so is very sympathetic, she says she is going to investigate on Ians behalf and is confident she can resolve it and remove the damage to my credit file.

So it sounds very promising. i am quite impressed to have had a response so quickly actually. Fingers crossed I get the result I need....looking good so far. will keep you updated :) I would recommend the OP does the same, let me know if you want the email address.
  • That sounds great ive been waiting for a manager to call me all since my original post. Ive had some missed calls from them called them back told them the best times to call however they still call when ever they like. Finally spoke to someone today they said they will write off the debt and arrange for my Credit File to be update however im not holding my breath. What did you say in your email to them?
