hallo - i am wandering around in circles looking for a slow cooker recipe for chicken curry - any pointers? I dont like it tooooooo hot (defo not a vindaloo girl!) and cant really have dairy at the moment (thats korma ruled out) and it has to be low fat (not that I am being picky or anything)- so, is it a case of bung a load of onion, garlic, skinned chix thighs and garam masala in with a bit of water and see what happens after eight hours??Blah0

Chilli and Ginger Chicken
I'm sure that some of CQ's curries will do well in a slow cooker too once you've done the basic sauce... and I'll bet she'll be along any minute now...

Some of these recipes sound faboulous, but if you're short of time, just follow the ingredients from one of the packet casserole mixes ( Colemans etc), blend the mix with 3/4 pint of water and turn the cooker onto a low setting before going to work in the morning and it will be ready when you come home from work.
I do a beef casserole and throw in baby new potatoes and have that at night with crusty bread. There's nothing better than coming into an empty house and smelling food cooking. You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
If anyone's still awake and has access to Living TV the Good Food programme with Jeni Barnett are doing a feature on slow cookers right now"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

Jeeze you lot are brilliant!
I'm up to page 50 on this thread and cutting and pasting as I go. Havent found any seafood recipes (sorry if I havent reached them yet)and wondered if anyone has made any?
What I was thinking of was a kind of chowder. I think I'll try a tub of mixed seafood (I have a little SC) and a tin of mushroom soup and a tin of cream of celery soup with some potatoes and onions.
Does this sound about right? What else would you throw in there?"Life is like a game of cards. I don't think we have a chowder recipe but I do know that chowders works very well in a slow cooker.
A look at the web site links at the bottom of the Slow Cooker Index will be bound to supply you with some.

I've just had a look in my book and it has a chicken chowder listed but not seafood, sorry
OTOH, it does list a paella
I think the problem with cooking fish/seafood in a slow cooker is that they're going to come out like rubber and very tough, unless you just add it for the last 30 mins or so, as fish doesn't like long cooking."An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"
