Elona - ordered mine on Fri 25 at about 9.30 pm, which was after you I believe. Maybe the donkey gets to our neck of the woods quicker because we have no snow. I'm sure it will turn up soon.

ps - have hubby's eyes stopped watering yet?

Try filling the crockpot with water and washing up liquid, stick back in the slow cooker for a while on high and it helps to lift the stuck on bits.

In the slow cooker at the moment Barbeque pork

    pork chops
    green pepper
    red pepper
    onion
    tin tomatoes
bottle of Heinz BBQ sauce (lurking in the cupboard, never ever used so used the whole lot in this dish)

Smells heavenly hope it tastes the same!

Update - this was absolutely delicious! Next time will make my own BBQ sauce rather than a bought one, but thats one less thing languishing in the cupboard from the bad old days, I wouldnt throw it away. Served it with rice. I also have a curry sauce similar (in a ketchup type bottle) so will use it in a curry in the same way.

Ticklemouse - do not mention curry as hubbie convinced I am trying to kill him with strength of veg curry I just made LOL.

Made chilli in mine today-with quite a few fresh chillies that had been reduced at Tesco. Hubby asked if the insurance policies were up-to-date!!!

I've got a bad cold, so my taste buds are numbed at the mo!

I'm so glad I invested in a slow cooker, even better that it was paid for by my Boots advanatge points. I have got the prima model which was £14.99 & we got 2 good size portions of lentil & bean casserole out of it for last nights tea & another 4 portions for the freezer.

Perhaps I'm just used to my old one taking a full day to cook anything, and I was making bolognese sauce in it and a tikka masalla the time before that.

I'm a bit worried that if I don't take it back before the Argos 16 day guarantee that if it still happens, they will insist on sending it off to be 'repaired'.

I might ring them tomorrow to find out?

You should be able to leave it on low for 8 or 10 hours but only about 3 or 4 on high. I find that mine doesnt burn but food does stick to the side sometimes making it a pain to get off, but I wouldnt be without it :)

I made a chilli last week and hubby moaned it wasn't hot enough - after last nights chilli he won't be doing that again LOL! It did nearly blow my head of, but it was worth it!

These newer Slow cookers have a higher wattage than the older ones. I don't know if this is just because they are so much bigger, but if I have read some reviews about these large ones and people have complained about food sticking/burning. I haven't got the info to hand, but I'm sure the 6.5L MR one is about 365 watts compared to my 20 yr old Tower 2.5 L which is around 120 watts (on high)
