    i always do my whole chicken in the hotpot now as it just falls apart and is so yummy.
    I use a fish slice to take it out the pot though as it just falls apart.....have your plate nearby.

    I am going to have a lot of juice at the bottom of my slow cooker, how do I turn it into some kind of gravy?

    pour it into a jug then scim off the fat and thicken it with bisto or gravy powder i think....i give mine to the dogs...lol

    Watch out though as this method does make a really strong lemony flavoured gravy..
    I just make bisto gravy as normal and add some of the juices to taste..

    i can't see any reason why you couldn't chuck the pork bones in with the chicken bones to make your stock...i bet it will taste scrummy!! :D

    i would allow it to defrost first, then chuck it in (thats a technical term :p) a couple of hours before the dish is due to finish cooking
    if you put it in frozen, it would lower the temp of the liquid too much, as a SC cooks at a really low temp. i've always found 'real' veg should be par-boiled first before adding to the SC as well
