I'm looking for a good deal on the U600...Anyone help ?

My current contract is just about up, and I really like the new Samsung U600 phone.

The best deal I can find right now is on Orange. 18 months, £17.10/month (net, after cashback), giving me 350 xnet anytime mins & 200 txts (that is more than sufficient), and free phone.

There doesn't appear to be any mention of any offers for this phone on Reestit Mutton's site (great site, by the way), so I was wondering if anyone knows of any better deals out there.

Thanks,
Kevin.

    Hi,

I just purchased this phone for my wife.

    Got it on Vodafone website.

150 xnetwork mins, 500 texts. £12.50 for the first 6 months, £25 therafter, 18 month contract. Also use quidco for £82.50 cash back!

I thought it was quite a good deal!

    Hi Kevin,

Until last weekend, there weren't many particularly enticing offers with this handset (hence the absence of deals with this handset from the RM website).

However, over the weekend, Phonebox Direct added this handset to its list, offering it with 9 months free line rental (via cashback) on the 12 month variant Vodafone Anytime 500 + 250 texts (usually £35/month).

After cashback, this deal works out at a shade under £9/month.

This deal has now been added to the RM database and the detailed information page for this package can be found HERE, along with a choice of both affiliate (green) and non-affiliate (blue) links to the relevant product page on the Phonebox Direct website.

That's a cracking deal with T-Mobile and The Mobile Outlet.

I couldn't go for Reestit's recommendation as I can't get Voda where I live, but T-Mobile is fine, I have used them in the past.

The only problem I have is that it is with The Mobile Outlet, and I am going to have to read up on them and see what their cashback history is like.

I have always used e2save or onestopphoneshop for my last 5 mobile deals and they have always paid up.

I telephone e2save and asked if they could match it (as I would like to go back with them, as I trust them), but they said no way, not on a deal like that. The guy didn't try and disuade me, but he did say to read all of the T&C's very carefully, as they will be making a loss on this deal, and at £105 for the 12 month term (and that's before £30 Quidco), I can't see how they can make any money at all (except by hoping not to pay out any cashbacks).

A great deal, thanks for finding it, and I am going to have a think about it now.

    Cheers,
    Kevin.

As already posted, but since removed for some reason, the Phoneboxdirect deal is great if you want a new number but they can't port onto Vodafone. No good for someone like me who needs to keep their number.

Also available are some deals on T-mobile with 600 mins and 1200 texts for £8.75 pm. No good for me though as T-Mobile sucks round here.

    Note to mod:
If the links in last post offended why not remove them rather than delete whole post? The text of the post was a constructive reply to the thread.

I'm having a similar problem.. I really want the U600, but I'm currently on Orange, so can't take advantage of their 12 months free line rental offer with this phone. Can't port my number to Vodaphone, and the cracking T-mobile deal (10 months free) is only available through the dreaded mobile outlet, and I don't fancy taking my chances there. GRRRR.

Tries to pricematch this deal with CPW and OSPH, but they weren't having it. I've asked for my PAC from Orange and am thinking of porting to a PAYG and waiting for a while to see if any better deals come up.

Anyone heard of any better deals?

do you guys trust those guys to give your cashback?
  • Ok Samsung fans ..

I may have found a solution to the Vodaphone problem. They were the only people offering the U600 on 12 months free, £35 month, but phoneboxdirect couldn't port my number.

HOWEVER, I've just got off the phone with mobilephonesontheweb and they DO port to Vodaphone and are offering 12 months free on with 500 minutes and 250 texts.

Very tempting. So what do we think of buymobilephonesontheweb?
