We do have the idiots with bangers and even with the blinds closed i saw some rockets going off. But i think it's getting quieter every year, i don't know if 'cos fireworks are so expensive now and more people take their kids to organised displays.

It's not the fireworks, it's the irresponsible d*cks who let them off at all hours and wherever they like. I myself love fireworks, the louder the better, but will not do them after 9pm and will always warn neighbours when we're going to let them off.

Perhaps my lovely neighbour who's big dog barks constantly when they're out, (to 3am at weekends), should show the same respect to us throughout the rest of the year?

BAN them other than organised public displays !!!

Logan wasn't TOO bad he went mad at the loud ones though but he thought they were the door being knocked. Had him in the garden and some went off that he could see and he was fine with them.

A friends dog is blind and it was terrified and had to be sedated and crated due to it :( 2 dogs in the area ran off, luckily both back home now.

They seem to have been very loud this year, some of them made our windows shake and a car alarm further up the road was going off every time one of the huge bangers went off.
Sazzybum, I've been thinking of you a lot over the last few days and hoping for a miracle.

One of the neighbours called the police about the drug dealer guy letting the huge fireworks off in the middle of the road. They said it's actually illegal to do that because of the potential dangers of using explosives near parked cars filled with fuel.

They said they'll be out over the next day or so to "advise him" of the risks involved.

    That'll REALLY worry him...!

The usual story these days though. A friend had her house burgled recently and the cops turned up ELEVEN days after the event to give her a crime number and advise her to check the local Cash Converters for her items that were taken!

Could stress due to fireworks cause tummy upsets in dogs?

Admittedly Tyson ate the biggest pile of cat poo I have ever seen yesterday, but it doesn't usually make him sick.

He is currently on a starvation diet until tomorrow, and so am I. No way I can face food after cleaning up piles of cat-poo-dog-vom!

Luckily my dog isn't bothered, although I have avoided walking him in the evenings because he is a bit scared of the dark and combining that with the constant fireworks probably wouldn't be a good idea!

My next door neighbours westie is absolutely petrified though, he is 11 and has to be drugged up every year :( I

Have to admit I agree that organised displays licensed by the local Fire Brigade ONLY are what would get my vote, no public sales of explosives at all and only as many organised displays as the local FB can license seems eminently sensible.
