Thanks for the extra info.
Do they charge extra for direct to door service???
My box is within their size range and weighs around 3kgs. So what I can see on their website is £4.99 including vat. But not sure if they charge any extra for delivering it to door??
Sorry for too many questions but I am a bit wary for trying out new things.:o:o:o
I have not yet registered to collect plus. So will have to do that too.
Many thanks for all your help.:A
The £4.99 is the direct to door service. Also if you read my post above you will note you don't have to register on Collect plus as you can do it all through ebay.
Personally I dislike Collect plus and I would only use them as a last resort , but even that might be difficult now as my local shops have come to the end of their tether with the service as well and abandoned it. I understand though that in some areas it works very well.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks a lot soolin. You are a star.:beer::beer:
Will give it a go. There is a shop very near which accepts the parcels. And in my case, for 3kg parcels all other couriers are coming to £7.99 + VAT. So that comes to nearly £10 which is double the amount. So will see how I get on.
Thanks again:):):)0 -
Hi, I was using Collectplus (drop at shop deliver to door) booking via Parcel2go until I discovered that all the under 2kg parcels I was sending out in boxes were wrong as they should only been sent in jiffy bags! Parcel2go told me a box was ok when I queried it and that is the only service that would come up under Collectplus for the weight and size I entered on the book a quote page. I contacted Collectplus who confirmed it had to be a jiffy and Parcel2go were wrong to say a box was ok. If you send a box it has to be via the higher weight category service, ie the over 2kg service. Use Hermes they're much better, especially their drop off at shop service which takes only 2/3 days and is cheaper than their pick up service.0

We send 10-15 boxes per day with Collect +, no issues at all. We pay about £4 with P2G, but we do get some discount as we spend so much with them.
Don't take the mickey is key here. We send metre long boxes that are thin and light - no issue. Sometimes 3 or 4kgs in a smallish box, again just fine. Anything shoebox size or thereabouts and vaguely within the weight limits is OK I find.0
