Collect plus

I have sold an item on eBay that I will be sending via collect plus, I will be using the option for the item to be collected from their local shop. How strict are they with the size of the box? On the website it says it needs to be 50x30x30 and m box is 52x31x31. Do you think I can get away with using this box?

    Hi,

It is worth giving your local store a call to find out if they will accept it, if they are happy to take it then CollectPlus will be happy to ship it.

    Thanks

I've never measured/weighed anything i've posted, biggest thing i've sent using the £3.99 service was a large-ish shoe box and have never had anything rejected
  • Yes, you should be absolutely fine.

One thing to watch out with the "local shop" option is that the pick-ups can sometimes be sporadic or once a week. So if you just miss the "pick-up" day, it will sit in the shop/collection point for a whole week before entering the onward delivery system - you might want to check this with the shop you're going to use.

(I had a parcel sit in place for almost 4 days because they only picked up on a Tuesday, and I'd dropped it off on the Thurs. - luckily for me the buyer was understanding and not in a hurry as I explained to them).

Don't forget as well that the tracking will be useless for PayPal as it will not track to the buyers address.

    Hi,

I am planning to use this collect plus option for the first time. I want to send few candles.

I am not sure how exactly it works though. Do I have to ask the buyers, about the suitable collection plus point to collect the item or do I just type in the buyers postcode and find out by myself and then send the details to buyers as to where he has to collect it???

Hope that makes sense. Sorry I am a bit confused:o

Why dont you use the deliver to the door service as that is suitable for paypal?

All my local Collect plus stores are now gone, although they still show on the Collect plus website- so unless your buyer knows precisely if they have a shop that is still taking Collect plus you might have issues.

Yes, the main service is to the buyers door- you need to delve deeper to find the one where you have it taken just to the shop. Just check the ebay link on the site, or print your labels direct from ebay and that adds all the tracking details etc to the sale records, you don't even need to log into Collect plus.

The odd thing is though that whilst you can print your labels on ebay they warn you the service is not really a good one for your buyers as it is so slow!

One last thing, make sure you have double checked that your Collect plus shop is still accepting parcels.

    Thanks for the extra info.

Do they charge extra for direct to door service???

My box is within their size range and weighs around 3kgs. So what I can see on their website is £4.99 including vat. But not sure if they charge any extra for delivering it to door??

Sorry for too many questions but I am a bit wary for trying out new things.:o:o:o

I have not yet registered to collect plus. So will have to do that too.

Many thanks for all your help.:A
