Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 6th Nov. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Carly, postthe above in your post for the daily!
Morning all, hope all ok, have to go to the post office today.sold9 things on amazon and have had 6 things paid for on eBay. Have a date with Daniel Craig this morning, can't wait. Dinner tonight will be some sort of Spanish omlette as I have loads of eggs. Need to do ironing mountain tonight too.
Nasty shock yesterday as need to sort out coping stones on the roof, but insurance company say is just wear and tear so won't cover it. Eeek £1000 later. Something we can't afford near to Christmas, but its gotta be done. Hugs for all. XMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Morning!
xcarlyx What's up? OH.s very often drive us mad:rotfl:
I slept well again, two hourly, but at least I went back to sleep eveytime.
Managed to finish the daffodil planting, and weeded the beds. Also made a cup of coffee and lunch all while listening to a friend on tthe phone. who goes on, and on, and on two hours in all, and I hardly got a word in:rotfl: I just make encouraging noises!
DD has a study course today, so I am collecting DGD from nursery and going to her for dinner. She says she has done a chicken casserole in the slow cooker. I've taught her well!
Sun is up, big frost here. Sitting in my jim-jams, so must have a shower.
Have a good day all!I Believe in saving money!!!:T
A Bargain is only a bargain if you need it!0 -
Oh Dear esmf not what you need to hear right at this moment in time.
heating is on as its blooming chilly this morning and cold joints means a slow JackieO:)
Little DGS Mikey was great yesterday ,we hoovered all through Mum's house and he was a good little boy and carted all of the toys upstairs for me (they live in a three storey town house and the stairs are a killer to my joints):)
Today I think I shall take him swimming as a treat. He goes back to school tomorrow after two extra inset days that have been tagged onto his half term.
I am making a cottage pie for DD this morning from the left over joint from Sunday as she has a lot of work to catch up on today after her week off.So it'll be all done and in the oven for when she comes home tonight.
This month is just whizzing by I must get to the shops at some point but haven't been able to yet,I am giving DGS some Euros as its his birthday on the 14th and he is going to Amsterdam with his pals.
Well must fly, as coffee calls. Have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Morning everyone
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Dry and light cloud to start the day here, but really frosty too. DH up and off to work stupid early.
Dinner last night was sausage, mash, veg and onion gravy, menfolk polished off the LO cheesecake. Tonight we will be having fish, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg.
DS1 has exams today, hoping he gets on ok x
Work was a manic Monday - will see what today brings!
Don't know if you remember me posting a week or so ago about a local man that had gone missing, he's still not been found and the Search and Rescue teams keep searching, seems general opinion now though that they are searching for a body, so sad for everyone involved.:(
Have a great day everyone, stay safe and well x

Hello Everyone, may I join you? Having a stressful time right now and reading all the cosy and mainly none confrontational threads on here is helping me to keep going.
Am currently sitting in bed with my dressing gown round my shoulders and the cat across my feet wondering what to do for dinner that does not involve meat - am favouring egg and chips right now.
Have a mass of ideas for crafts but no get up and go to get them started. Memo to self .... stop thinking and start doing.
Garden is terrible mess and after 4 years of trying and failing to grow any food, am trying to think of cheap, easy to do ways to simplify the space. Lol, once again, doing it in my head and leaving it there! Please be patient with any mis-spellings and typos I am officially useless with a touchscreen keyboard!!! :mad:0 -

Tea tonight will be Cajun chicken as parents are coming tonight instead of last night.

Morning all, bright and frosty walk for me and Jack this morning. Off to school in a minute and after school going to see a friend who has breast cancer, she has just finished chemo and is having a mastectomy next week. Have 2 friends with breast cancer at the moment but both seem to be doing well. Not sure what is for dinner but I expect DD will sort something when she gets in from work. Hugs to all in need esp Uolypool's DS. Welcome to JKJ Have a good day all£180.00 in 'sistercas'fund
Hope is like the sun, which, as we journey toward it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us.

Morning :hello:
Really cold here today. There's no frost on the ground, but there was some on the vans. Master tru couldn't find an ice scraper so he used my wooden spatula
Last night's stew was lovely, I'll probably eat some for lunch today. Some of it was supposed to go in the freezer but at this rate it'll all be gone by tonight.
I have no bedding for the animals so I'll be shredding paper for most of the dayI did some maths, can you believe it's actually cheaper to buy cheap printer paper and shred it, than it is to buy shredded bedding from the shop? Ridiculous.
xcarlyx try starting a thread on the family and relationships board, there's loads of helpful people up there who've gone through similarBulletproof0
