Calfuray, hope your menu spreadsheet went ok :T. It takes a while to get into the swing of it, but it saves so much time in the week when we are all busy.

    Best wishes for 2013

    Tilly x

Thanks :) Have been playing with spreadsheets all day, now have one for mortgage (with thanks to FinancialBliss of course).

Have soups for my lunches planned - lentil made from ham stock once I've cooked the ham, potato and leek - loads of potatoes to use up, french onion - made with free gravy from butcher and stock from roast beef we had for New Year's Day dinner - yum yum!

Got plans for bolognese, lasagna, chilli, chicken/turkey/beef burgers, stir fry mix, cottage/shepherd's pie (once I find out what the difference is :rotfl:) but will need to make separate versions of everything due to Mr Cal's fussiness. Need to make up wee portions of veg to freeze so they can get quickly chucked in boiling water for fast healthiness ;)
Already have some curry sauces made from scratch in freezer - chicken tikka masala and coconut, lime and tamarind curry.

Need to trawl websites for more recipes...

Thank you! Definite long, looong hauler. On our current path, over 15 years til the end, will hopefully change dependent on future jobs after uni...

Happy New Year to you too, I'm very impressed with all the numbers in your sig :T

    Thanks Calfuray

I'm a spreadsheet geek, and once I've got numbers on my spreadsheet I want to incorporate them into my sig. The trouble is that I keep thinking of more ways of calculating extra things, and you're only allowed 350 characters. :o My diary is here, BTW.

I do love a good spreadsheet! Wish I could use Excel better, I know it's handy for quite a lot of jobs. Sat down and made myself a spreadsheet from FinancialBliss' instructions, was good fun.

And don't worry, you're not alone in your numbers game. I picked 07/05/14 for my wedding date as by that point we will been together 6 years, engaged 2, the difference between date and month (07/05) is two, and 2 x 7 = 14, which is the year... I could go on for days

Ooo, diary link! Off to catch up :)

EDIT: And I just managed to knock 5 years off my date, just realised it is just over 15 years, not 20

If you have anything you want to do on Excel and don't know how, feel free to post on here asking me. Excel is "my thing" as far as computers are concerned, and I'd be happy to help if I can. :)

Aw thanks! It's not one particular thing I'm afraid, I think I just need run through some tutorials and so on to explore fully what you actually can do!

    Ok hon, here's a question:
Daily balance on each row, sum of previous balance, plus interest, less overpayments.
Lets say today I owe 118,900.
    Tomorrow I pay off 715 (I wish :D). New balance 118,185.
Next day I pay off 200. New balance 117,985.
Next day I pay off 600. New balance 117,385.

What I want is for the cell to change colour when it drops down into another thousand bracket, say from 118 to 117k, regardless of whether it was a massive or small overpayment - it's the result that matters.

Would also like the same in reverse with savings.

Not exactly the end of the world as I like changing the cell colour when it drops into another thousand bracket, but it annoys me that I can't do it :rotfl:.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)
