Highgate Parking -- Rock Ferry

Hi,
I recently received a ticket from Highgate Parking for staying in Rock Ferry retail park car park for over 2 hours (from 9.20 to 12.06 at night). Its a free car park, which was empty so I didn't harm anyone.
I can't really see anything wrong with the "ticket" they gave me, bar the fact that it was issued 19 days after the event. I do have a vague recollection of looking at signs in that car park once, but am unable to recall if it was after or before I got the ticket.
What's my best course of action, ignore, appeal or pay up?
sorry I believe its highview parking.

IGNORE - providing you are the registered keeper. Certainly don't appeal as its pointless and will be turned down, and you'd be a mug to cough up your wongaExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
It's Highview I suspect, they're well known & also chase away Tesco customers!
Like all the other posters on this board, you have a fake PCN.
As long as it's not a company/hire/lease car then you can just ignore it and ignore the other letters that will arrive. As you were sent the fake PCN in the post (I assume?) then obviously the registered keeper is you which makes it easy to ignore.
The letters are easy to predict and laugh at, when they arrive at the address of someone who knows it's all hogwash and not a real parking ticket at all.
The whole scam of fake PCNs relies firstly on people's ignorance of the fact that a random private company can't fine anyone, and secondly on their natural fear of parking tickets and the escalating costs/bailiff scenario. So PPCs copy the look of a real parking ticket and - hey presto! - the cash rolls in from victims who know no better.
Don't be victims!
There is no fine, no CCJ, no bailiff, no debt, no effect on credit rating, no Court, no repercussions at all.
Tick off the threatening letters here.
Watchdog clip with expert Solicitor's opinion, using a fake PCN with nice photos of a car (probs very much like your fake PCN!) here.
Barrister's opinion - read the answer at the bottom, it's very clear! - here.
So simply choose to ignore and laugh at the scammer and their attempt to extort money. It's like deleting obvious phishing emails from your 'Bank'; it's a very similar con based on impersonation of authority. Just play snap with each letter against the first link, then the scam fizzles out - simple!
HTHPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

How did you manage to get a ticket there? ive been trying to get one for years, i even left my van there walked into town and ended up on the beer so left it there from friday till sunday without any tickets.
Note to self....must try harder.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0 -
Apart from not being "legally imposable" one other reason HighView Parking Ltd do NOT take people to Court is....they have outstanding summonses AGAINST them for non-payments!!!
I found this out when a couple of friends (one disabled) got threatening letters from them for staying more than 2 hours in Livingston Car Park. I advised them to ignore the threats after reading your posts and the "legalities" (or lack of them) in the so-called-Law they quoted (England and Wales only ???).0 -

Your friend could get monetary damages in a simple Small Claim for that, as it's discrimination:

I would send a Letter before Action but not just to Highview but also to whoever contracted them at that car park. Both jointly and severally liable for this discrimination, they simply cannot try to impose the same time limit on disabled drivers. Enclose a copy of that BBC report, state that the current applicable law is the Equality Act 2010 rather than the DDA, and that your friend intends to sue for damages of, say, £400 (a few hundred, he can choose!) unless these letters cease immediately and the fake PCN is cancelled.PRIVATE 'PCN'?
