Which of these is best...BT vision package ....including broadband and phone...or Talk Talk package plus inc TV, phone and broadband. I currently have aol broadband which has always been fine...Bt phone which has been fine and sky tv..been fine! BT is a bit dearer than talk talk...but is it better, especially customer service? A bit confused,,,BT or Talk Talk? Any help would be appreciated

  • well because you need to buy the freeview box up front around £150...would need a freeview plus recorder as need series link and would be nice to have HD which the packages offer via youview box.
Also reliabiilty...if the box i got went wrong after 12mths guarantee could mean buying new one? I must say i prefer the idea of a separate free view box as I hate contracts..but is it practical for my requirements?

If you have Sky why do you want BT Vision or Talk Talk TV?

AOL UK is simply a brand of TalkTalk, and has been for years, so the service will be exactly the sasme (i.e. non-existent).
Why would you switch from one of the best broadband providers (Sky) to either of the worst (TT or BT)?
if you want a PVR, then just buy one upfront and don't tie yourself in to long contracts.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • Hi

no i already have aol broadband not sky broadband,,,just sky tv and bt phone

wanting to lose sky tv because of monthly cost but want to be able to record and series link as now with sky. So the best way seems to be by talk talk or youview bt packages. This also allows HD tv which I don't currently have.

buying a seperate freeview or freesat recorder would keep me out of contracts...but to get a decent one talking £200 and youview being offered at £4.00 per month. either with bt or talk talk.

    Any advice?

BTV is absurd-why pay for Freeview? It also locks you into BT 's overpriced broadband.

Because BT Vision is more than just Freeview?
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

If you want that then you can by a Humax DTR-T1000. Use it with the ISP of your choice.
They come preprogrammed to record the Apprentice.:D

  • In my opinion go for a stand alone Humax Freeview box. No need to sign up with anyone for Youview.

I had BT vision for 2 weeks before throwing the box behind the telly and buying a Humax box. BT vision is terrible, never works and half the content there as with Youview and customer service non existent.

Talk talk is just a smaller box version of the original Humax but they charge for installation.

Just choose the best telephone and broadband package for you and then just buy the box on its own.

Youview have just won Gadget of the year by T3 magazine. I have had it from release and had not one problem with it. Would not be without it!!

I think I got mine from Currys but Richersounds are also a very good reputable dealer.
