I posted about my old TV back in april 07, and as this thread has been revived I should add that the bloody thing is STILL working perfectly!
Give it a few days dusty, you may be lucky0 -
Thanks - it seems ok this morning so we may have been very lucky. Kids also have a lot of geomags at the moment - whilst I don't think these are as strong I will have a chat with the kids when they get back about not using those near the tv either. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

Sorry but can I please hijack this thread?
The green blotch thing caught my eye..My last TV had one on one part of the screen, it wasn't there when you first switche don but came onto the screen after a while. We replaced that tV and bought a new one, and exactly the same thing is happening!
We don't have oids or anything that I can think of that is magnetic but it seems very odd that two TVs completely different makes and ages have had this green blotch..could we have some rogue magnetism in the house or something?
i had this when i replaced my PC speakers and the new subwoofer must have had a far more powerful magent
it was in the same place as the old but affected the TV0 -

lol Freddie, it wasnt a bad thing cos I had a nice shiny LCD to replace it
Demolition is going well, 3 bedrooms are 90% done now and the bathroom is starting next week0 -
This sort of thing happens when we pause sky+ for a while (normally when something white is on the screen). It does fade after a while, but I've been told, and done it myself, that if you turn the tv off at the tv (ie don't leave on stand-by) for at least 2 hours it corrects itself.Mortgage: Was: £154,495 Oct 2039 Now: £82,340.34 May 2037Swagbucks ~ £130 (2024 ~ £395)Surveys ~ £141.14 (2024 ~ £280.14)Make £2025 in 2025 #5 ~ £964.62 ~ (2024 ~ £2,561.04)0

Ive worked on a few tv's with this problem and also found it can be caused by pot plants !...always good to ensure no speakers or plants are next to the tv0
