Communal Arial/Freeview Help

Apologies in advance as I am utterly clueless about all of this and hoping someone can help me.

I currently have my main tv in the living room hooked up via sky plus. There is an arial socket which I have never used.

I have bought myself a new tv for my bedroom which has built in freeview...I have tried plugging it into the arial socket and im not picking anything up.

Ok so now for the complicated part.... I am ground floor in a block of flats (3 high) I am self contained so have no access to the main block. I have been on the phone to the factor this morning who says that she does not think that the arial was ever upgraded - states letters were sent out blah blah blah ( I dont remember receiving one)and is apparently away to check anyway...

My problem... I dont want to pay for sky multiroom in a one bed flat but how do I solve my problem? If the arial has not been upgraded then Im not forking out myself to get it fixed.

Anyone offer any ideas?

All grateful received!!

Is it just you in the flat?

If so get yourself a TV link kit and run a cable from the RF3 output on your Sky box to the new TV. The result will be having control of your Sky box in the bedroom. Not expensive either. The only downside is its mono sound.

Loads on the market here is one

Have you gone through all the channels on your TV in your bedroom and if you cant see the picture on any have you tried tuning it in, on mine current TV its on something random like channel 64, the previous TV needed retuning to pick up the picture.
