Can't open XLS files by double clicking.. arrrgh

Right click the file, Open With, then Choose Program, then navigate to Microsoft Office then Office folder then Excel also when you right clicked the file make sure its unblocked[/url]
That was exactly what I did (in addition to what others suggested) but as I said when I browse and get to Excel, I open it but it doesn't get added onto the list of programs to open the file with. It just doesn't appear there.
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0
