Confused about new upgrade and cashback - O2 CPW
Hi everyone.
My current contract was due to finish on the 28th of may so last week i decided to call to give my 1 month notice that i did not want to continue it.
My plan was to cancel and then to sign up to the sim only deal from one stop phone shop(O2, 250xnet mins, 100txts, 11months 99p on 12month contract), but the guy i spoke to said he could offer me 11 months free on the same tarrif on the 12 month contract so i took it.
He told me that i will get cashback on the bills 4, 8, 12 and he said that the upgrade would start on the 7th may after my bill printing date 6th may. He also said he would send me the info in the post.
A week on, no info came in the post and nor did my previous bill for some reason so i decided to call up and follow up what happend.
I was told that my new tarrif had actually started on the 5th of april and that when you upgrade it is a verbal agreement and no details are ever sent out in the post. I made my point and told the woman that the man i had spoken to previously said he would. She then wrote an email to him to get him to send out the details etc.
I was told my cashback was on months 4,8,12. Bills were to be sent to:
CPW redemptions
Pobox4311
dunstable
lu69bj
And was also told no cashback vouchers were required, just the bill itself sent my recorded delivery. I went on the CPW site after and they seem to have cashback vouchers on it, so i am confused now. Does anyone here get cashback without vouchers from CPW here?
Final thing, the woman told me that the bills i would have to send for cashback would be : 4th - august, 8th- december, 12th- april next year.
Does this sound right, my billing date is the 6th of every month and the upgrade to tarrif was agreed on the 5th of april.
As you can probably tell now i am more than a little confused to be honest. I am wishing i had stuck to my balls and gone with the OSPS contract.
Can any wise soul help me understand what seems to be a mess in my eyes?
Thanks for reading

I was told my new tariff would probably kick in at the beginning of the new billing period, BUT it might get activated immediately. It was! I'll print off the cashback vouchers just to be on the safe side - I don't want to risk them refusing a claim because a voucher is missing.
My billing date is supposedly going to move a few days, but I'll send in my 4th, 8th and 12th featuring the new tariff (even if the 1st one is a short month or 1 month + afew days).
The good thing with CPW is that you can ask them if you've submitted the right month within the 60 days they allow for each cashback. That should allow you time to rectify any incorrect bills sent."Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0 -

1. CPW currently offers 11 months free line rental on 400 Xnet mins/100 SMS tariff (12 month contract) which might be a bit better then what the guy offered you.
2. Its rubbish when they say it can't be sent by post. Of course they can. Lots of people here have received their offers by post. What you should have done is take the name and number of the person you spoke to.
3. I have never heard about the cashback voucher. I don't think its true. I have copies of CPW latest brochures/ leaflets, they don't mention nothing about sending vouchers. You just send off your bills.
4. CPW can start your new tariff on whatever date you specify, provding its not longer then 30 days. My new tariff is set to start in first week on May and currently I am still finishing off my existing tariff. I have already received my new phone and CPW are due to start my new tariff in May. Not sure what they have done to yours but I would call up and check with them.
ALWAYS get the details of your offer in writing. Either email or by post.
I got mine sent via email and they have also sent it by post (I haven't received the post because they only just sent it) but it should be on its way.
Either one is sufficient for evidence purposes should anything happen at a later date. Also, if you can try to record calls as well if possible.0 -
Thanks guys for the replies.
I got the name of the guy i spoke to, and the woman i spoke to yesterday said she would get him to send me details via post/email within a week - fingers crossed.
I was just confused about the cashback vouchers as if you goto the CPW website they have them on there.
Any other comments appreciated.

hi all,
I recently upgraded with e2save. was a pleasant lad, who explained all the details to me, tho i am a bit confused about how the bills are from now on.... in my first deal i used the bill no ( 1 to 10 as of now) on top of the bill to ascertain the bill to be sent for cash back (ie 4th 6th 8th 10th ....) , when the new deal kicks in ( or the continuation???) what r the bill no??? is my 11th month bill ,1st for the new contract???? i have one more cash back claim left on the 1st 12 month deal...... hope they dont change the bill no so that i can get that thru..... and worst part is that i am confused abt the bill no 4 in the new deal....... which i need to claim cash back....
my 10th bill was dated june 13 2008 12th sud be aug 13 2008 , then is my 4th bill of new contract 13th dec 08??? confused cause the new contract started immediately after the day of upgrade (got all the details and phone in post on the 11th of july!!!) am worried .....after enjoyin the cashback for 10 months it now seems i have come across my 1st hurdle...... dont want to miss out cause then i will have to pay £35 a month for a sh*t phone!!!!!!0
