B&Q Tradepoint kitchen prices

Hi

Is there anyone out there who has a Tradepoint account and would be able to help with some pricing info please? We are about to fit a new kitchen and are interested in a Cooke and Lewis one (not many places do the right wall units for us) however I think we would be able to get a Tradepoint account.

Can anyone tell me how the Tradepoint Cooke and Lewis unit prices compare to the retail prices? There is a Tradepoint catalogue online but I can't view it as I don't have a membership number.

Thanks

  • Ive never bought a kitchen from B&Q but I think tradepoint offer quite a good discount on the cooke and lewis kitchens. It makes a change for them as they dont seem to discount anything else
  • Thanks Steve. The Cooke and Lewis fit better we think, but they are £2500 for the units compared to £1600 for the Ikea ones so hopefully the trade discount may make it a bit better.
  • We're after tall wall units (900mm or thereabouts) but we also need this in an L-shaped corner unit (around 625mm*625mm) due to the layout. It's not a huge kitchen (3.3m*2.3m) has two doors and a massive window so it's a bit fiddly.

We had a look at Howdens but from what I have read they may be very pricey. Benchmarx had some lovely things, but no tall units. Not checked Magnet Trade yet.

why dont you just pick up a copy of the trade point kitchen catalogue and just add vat to the prices

all the carcasses are the same as the normal b and q range

trade point always gets more expensive each time i go and i find it !!!! that trade point and similar companies just hand out trade accounts to any joey who walks in
  • Thanks, I was planning to pick up a catalogue, but I live miles away from B&Q so was just trying to find out if it was a half decent discount which would make it reasonable, or if I needed to rethink our layout plans.

the cooke & lewis will be worth the extra £'s than ikea.
the doors are so much higher quality and will prob give you an extra 5yrs of pleasure.

They are not... IT kitchens and Cooke & Lewis carcasses, hinges, fixings etc.. are completely different in both look and quality. What you can do to get the cost down, as the carcasse and door dimensions are the same, is put a C&L door on an IT carcasse.....as long as you do not mind a pretty poor spec carcasse and that coffee bean pattern that is.....

Do that, and get tradepoint discounts and you should be close to Ikea prices, but the quailty gap then is much narrower overall.

You are getting a better door, but not a better carcasse.....

Just because there made from the same company doesnt mean the carcass will be the same quality.
many companys on everything in life make more than one product at different levels for the buyer depending what one wants :D
I know carcass companies that produce cheap and then the upper end - same factory.
