Orange iPhone bad signal
Hello wondered if someone could offer me some advice?
I took over an orange iphone contract about a year ago so still have 6 months left on it to run as it was an 18 mth contract of my brothers who lost his job and couldn't commit to the payments.
It was ok whilst I was living with in my old place but since moving to my new house about 11 months ago I have had virtually no signal in my house and have to go in to the garden to make and receive calls.
I have contacting them complaining about this issue and they just say that there are several masts in my area so shouldn't be a problem....that's fine for them to say not me who can't use my phone which I pay just over £50+vat a month!!! it's rediculous they just make me run a 30 min update each time I call which never helps and sometimes makes it work for a day then its the same again.
I have had the phone replaced but for another reason and even the new phone has the same problem so cannot be a defective handset.
Is there anything I can do as I cannot cancel as I would need to pay to get out of it and really can't afford that?!? Is there such a thing as being able to get this cancelled FOC based on them not being able to offer me a good service?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance! Leanna :j

Oddly someone else posted from Bristol with reception issues, but back to your post, you moved so it's not Orange's fault, if you are paying £60 per month, then (apart from more fool you) that's £360 to terminate and then you can go sim only on another network, the trying to cancel FOC seems a cheap tactic for those wishing to evade their commitment, no such thing as a free handset, you are buying it on credit with a long contract.0

It could be your house blocking the signalDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Or realistically the EE network is shot since the mergerSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0

I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0

LOL, my network signal and many more are reporting online since EE displayed as the network the signal is terrible, mine happened a few weeks beforehand, then the EE displayed network name made it worse !SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... What makes you think you are special on Orange (EE)?0

Yep, Orange signal in Bristol for me has been absolutely dire. North Bristol? Now on EE which means I get LTE/4G which is definitely better but I haven't been into Tesco yet since I moved over and that is where I REALLY struggle for signal.
You'd think that with the big Orange building around here and 2 EE buildings at Aztec West the signal might be quite good..... obviously not.Trying to remain free of unsecured debt and build up some savings.
Have done CeFA and CeMAP exams but no longer regulated.0 -

It wouldn't be a contract I would have took out myself but I was helping my brother who lost his job, thats irrelevant whether it was £10 or £60 a month the issue is that I live in a supposed area in which they have several masts so the fact I moved (which is allowed ) shouldn't make a difference they offer a service to supply me with coverage....? I could understand if I moved to a remote island in the Pacific but I only moved 10 mins down the road lolCredit Cards at 25/12/2017: £1297.36/17,936.78

I would seek advice from Trading standards etc. Mobile phone providers claim to cover 97% of the country and therefore its reasonable if you move to expect them still to provide a service.
If they are not providing the service then you should be able to cancel the service. You may have to consider paying up the contract before you consider legal action.
I would suspect you would have a decent chance of winning unless you live in the middle of nowhere.0
