Stove currently burning anthracite

Hello, we've bought a house which, amongst other things has a solid fuel stove. The current owners run the stove on solid 'ovoids' (anthracite?) 24 hours a day at quite a low heat. The stove is connected to the hot water system
Knowing nowt about stoves, I wondered if it would be possible to burn logs on the stove as well as the ovoids (sometimes logs, sometimes ovoids).
Apologies but I have no idea as to the make of the stove and don't move in until the end of the month.
Thanks,
Iain

A multi fuel stove will have a way of either removing the grill or a way of blocking the grill
Coal burns best on a grill. Wood needs a solid base with little air in from below0 -
Depends on the stove really.
Worth getting them to tell you where they buy from (they'll have figured out the best prices locally). Coal will burn longer & hotter than logs, so if they're running it 24/7 that will work out easier & probably cheaper (logs are expensive and you need a good log store to keep them dry).
Not sure whether you've had any experience with solid fuel before ... don't be afraid to ask them to show you the best way to get the stove going from cold.0
