I would like to get this via download (if thats how it comes) rather than buying the dvd for 50 quid. I got to where I put my name and address in and im thinking that the next part will be bank details. Now I do not want to install on on this pc as I have a new one coming with no Operating system.
So basically will I get an 8 download that I can put onto dvd and install on my new pc from the microsoft website.

The £24.99 offer is an UPGRADE, to be installed on any PC that currently has a qualifying operating system. You cannot use it to install Windows 8 on a machine that has no operating system. How do I add a signature?0

Perhaps you can hold your horses until the machine actually arrives.

Unless they have changed the installer since it was released then it will install on a clean machine. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I did an upgrade on a laptop which has not gone very well so I formatted the disk and did a clean fresh install from the DVD I had made from the download.
So you can install on a computer that has no OS pre-installed.
I am now going to use that DVD to upgrade my 32 bit OS to 64 bit, or at least see if it will install using my 32 bit product key.0 -
The download is 2GB. You CAN burn a DVD or make a bootable USB stick (which will install faster) and then you CAN install fresh. I just did. Point being, you have already downloaded it from Win Xp/Vista/7, so it is an upgrade.0

I have since found that although it will install on a clean machine, it will not activate as states that the key is for an upgrade and not new install.
Further problem that I have encountered is that I downloaded it via my desktop which is running 64bit, hence I have a 64 bit copy. Theintention was to put it on my old laptop running 32 bit XP. Nope you can't do that either. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
