Why did you throw them away?crossstitchamy wrote: »This is what im on about. I got rid of loads of letters of job ads the jobcentre gave me and old job logs after a sort out last week. I have a months worth of logs (the books i fill in for them) and it must've been over a month ago. I have searched papers that i have kept for recent ads. how can they do me for something from that way back they should've said something then. and they havent said anything about it until this letter. Well i have searched my email i cant find it there it cant have been via that.0 -
Well i was just sorting through...can't keep everything lol. After a month of not hearing off the firm after applying for their vacancy i just got rid.0

They can't sanction you. It's their job to prove you're lying and provide evidence you have not applied. At the time they accepted the evidence you gave to show you applied. They can't change their mind now. File a complaint.
If in doubt, ask which job vacancy they're talking about and get all the info you can. They must give you this info if they're going to accuse you of failing to apply for that job. Then claim you applied via post which means there's no physical evidence nor email entry. If the company says you haven't applied you can say it's lost via post but as you have applied, it's good enough for JSA.
JSA can't do anything if you stand up for yourself.0 -
Thank you denla. Its like When i sign again after the application they sign my book or accept my sign etc do declare that everything is alright for the past 2 weeks. I am mad that they have come up with this after many of signings since this that job.0

A months worth is not a lot to hang on to. Some people have months worth of stuff in case anything like this happens.crossstitchamy wrote: »Well i was just sorting through...can't keep everything lol. After a month of not hearing off the firm after applying for their vacancy i just got rid.0 -
I never thought i had to keep it all. I thought when you go and sign on every other week its declaring that you have applied for jobs given and then in receipt of the sign on advisor signs your book then you are ok and that they agree that you done right especially when your money comes through.0

They have told me many many times I do not need to carry all my searches with me (carry the last 3 months and kept all of them recorded for the JC) as when you have signed on that week they say you no longer need them but I say 'says who'? Until something like this happens.crossstitchamy wrote: »I never thought i had to keep it all. Like others have said find out how you were meant to have apply ie was it email or phone call etc and then ask for the proof from the employer that you HAVEN'T applied.
Emails can go astray too as I had one this week that after I chased up for feedback I was told I had never applied only to hear from them a few days later the email from www.reed.co.uk had gone to their SPAM box hence them saying I had never applied to them!0 -
ok thanks hun, yeah i always check my spam. from now on i be keeping my records for a long time. Luckily i will have a couple of payments before the apparent sanction date.0

No I mean at the job it could be in the SPAM box and they would never know.crossstitchamy wrote: »ok thanks hun, yeah i always check my spam. from now on i be keeping my records for a long time. Luckily i will have a couple of payments before the apparent sanction date.
Maybe set up an email in box called JOBS and then copy all emails you send or links to online applications etc and how and when you applied and put the name of the company in the email subject title so easy to find if you evven get questioned about them or a company calls to invite you for an interview and its easy to locate the job advert etc0
