Car tyre flat a week after purchase!

Hi

I purchased a 2001 mini cooper last week. This morning I realized one the front tyres has gone flat. I don't have a spare tyre to replace it with. What could be causing this? Could there be a mechanical problem with the car causing this or is it that the tyre is somehow punctured?
Sorry I don't know much about cars.

Many thanks

tyre needs reseated or you have a puncture
  • Yes indeed, it could be somehow punctured . . . or maybe a leaky valve.

And it could have happened the moment you drove off the forecourt - all outwith the dealership's control. I'm surprised you don;t have a spare wheel though - I thought it was only from 2008 that no spare was provided?

The only MINI ever available with a spare was the One and even that was a spacesaver and a cost option

This is a common problem and is often caused by the nut behind the steering wheel.

Sounds like it's only flat at the bottom of the tyre so you should be alright.

Imagine an 11 year old car getting a puncture a week after purchase!

Clearly this car is faulty and i'd say you have a strong case to get all your money back from the dealer. Tell him you too dumb to own a car.

Ignore everyone elses silly posts,I can categorically diagnose that a lack of air is the problem.
