There are more and more reports coming out in relation to increases in lukemia in children and other ill effects to people who have been in close proximation of mobile masts etc. ioninsing or non ionsing, its having an effect on peoples health.
Earlier in this thread I posted about ill effects that i had using these devices.
Its not because im anti wifi, or scaremongering, I personally embrace latest technology and normally have the latest gadget going because I love using new technology have spent quite a bit in the past getting it, including having a personall wireless network years ago, untill i got rid of it.
The link I gave about the school is another point that people are getting ill, Its not all in their heads or they dont know what they are talking about.
I'm not ignoring it I'm asking how you know it is caused by masts or wifi and not something else? And it is perfectly possible for people to become physically ill just from worry. I'm not suggesting it is "all in their heads" in a sense that they are not really ill, but that the mind can make you ill0 -

It's not spam its information to help people securing their wireless networks. Admittedly I thought the article was relating to Wi Fi Security but now see it is relating to health.:: No Unauthorised Links in signatures please - FM ::0 -

It is spam and if you had read the site rules first before posting, you would know that spamming your site is not allowed.
There is more than enough information on wireless security already posted on this forum.
:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

I can assure you mental illness from worrying is not the cause, in my case:p
Anyway, how I personally know what causes my symptoms?
I cannot use bluetooth dongles, or stand even a few feet of a USB bluetooth dongle when active. I start getting chest pains within a few seconds to minutes that increase to the state that it feels like Im going to have a heart attack and start curling up, its that bad.
How have a deduced that it is the bluetooth?
Because I have never had these types of pains before or after this in my life. My doctor even gave me a clean bill of health because they thought it might be a heart attack triggering.
The 3 times individually I have had these pains its been standing by a bluetooth dongle (on different computers)which within 30-40 secs of been turned on the pains have started and instantly relaxing when the device was switched off.
I even tested the devices by turning it on and off to see if that is what was triggering the pain.
and everytime it triggered curling up with chest pains when turned on and eased when I turned it off. This was done on 2 different devices and computers.
WIFI - I get tingling sensations on my arms within a few minutes of being near a wifi enabled router and this then spreads to legs etc overtime and I start feeling wierd after a while and start itching.
how do I know its the WIFI?
I brought a Wireless router years ago, and thats when i first experinced the problem but at the time i didnt know thats what it was. I had to return the wireless within a few days for other reasons but never thought twice about the symptoms i got from using it untill a few years later when i brought a laptop which had wireless. In the meantime i was using wired connection.
When I started getting these symptoms again after I setup my wireless broadband I tried to work out what it was. In the end i relised that when i switched the wireless off i was fine and ON I started getting the symptoms again. Ive changed to wired and never had the same symptoms again at home.
I have walked into peoples houses without seeing or knowing they have a wireless connection, just sitting there having a chat and the symptoms start and out of the blue if i ask them If they have wireless connection, and can you believe it, they have it ON, behind the TV, which i cant see a few feet from me.
its happened to me on many occasions where Ive gone to peoples houses and if they have a wirless connection on anywhere near me i start getting the symptoms.
I dont have to see a computer or the router and can be enjoying myself talking about something competly different, but if its anywhere nearby it effects me and i pick it up.
So basically I know whats affecting me and it shouldnt be written off as anti wifi, or people not knowing what they are talking about, having suffered from the affects first hand.0 -

it says he's offline thought. I only have mac address sericuity on the network.
Hi
I'm a really ignorant on this stuff and I was wondering if you could tell me what the main page on look@lan is telling me. Here's a screenshot.
The listed IP addresses; the colours used to denote each - what does it all mean? Also, is it set up correctly - I want to see if anyone is trying to use my wifi?
FYI - I have 2 laptops working off of my password-secured wifi - one of which is listed as AFF RM widescreen.

I wasn't referring to mental illness. If you believe something (such as a radio transmitter) is going to make you unwell, then it is possible that that belief can you make you unwell, in terms of headaches or other pains. It is the reverse of the well known placebo effect where inert pills or treatments can make you feel better if you believe they will (this is how many homeopathic medicines work and possibly even acupuncture).Millionaire wrote: »Anyway, how I personally know what causes my symptoms?
Your symptoms certainly sound interesting. Has no one offered to investigate scientifically. This needs to be done in a double blinded fashion so no one knows if the signal is on or off.Millionaire wrote: »I have walked into peoples houses without seeing or knowing they have a wireless connection, just sitting there having a chat and the symptoms start and out of the blue if i ask them If they have wireless connection, and can you believe it, they have it ON, behind the TV, which i cant see a few feet from me.

It does sound like it would be worth investigating more in your case, but this has to be done to strict scientific methods (the double blinding is essential for example) to be able to conclude that you are being physically affected by the radio waves0 -

So then, more research requested into electrosensitivity is were it's at...0 -
Your original question - "How might my sleep patterns be affected by all this surplus and totally wasted energy in the ether about my head?"
At the risk of prolonging what has become at times a disjointed, rambling collection of assertions and counter-assertions, typified by the sense that both sides are fundamentally stating 'you can't prove that I'm wrong!'.......
The very fact that you would put that question to the technical support section of a money-saving forum, rather any of the many learned and specialist forums that might be able to attempt a reasoned answer, pretty much allows me to make an informed judgement of the validity of the question and the questioner.
In one sense, I applaud the many, many people who have tried to put forward reasoned discussions. But then I keep coming back to the same thought - why bother?
Maybe I'm just having a bad evening caused by a few bad nights sleep - or perhaps it is the EMR fog affecting my judgement?0 -
No Jzpop, you are just a little immature and perhaps premature in your criticisms and perhaps also a little out of touch with current affairs:
BBC2 Newsnight tonight 2230 (NOW) "A look at the legacy of Boris Yeltsin, Mark Urban on the safety of Britsih Cahallenger tank crews and the effect of WiFi on those sensitive to low level microwave radiation."0 -
Immature? probably, at times.
Premature? We will know in 20+ years - far too late to do anything about it if you or I are right
Newsnight - a slow news day, and a TV programme trying to find a different angle on the City's wireless mesh going live today.
"WiFi
Some people seem to be super-sensitive to low level microwave radiation.
So on the day the City of London switches on Europe's single largest wireless Internet zone, we meet the people who, unless they want to spend their lives wracked with migraines and nausea, will have to walk around with tin foil wrapped around their heads in this brave new world."

Which sorts of takes us back to the first response to your original question.0
