  • It is such a good feeling to actually pay my debts back - a leaf has definitely been turned over!

I have had shingles this week... No doubt caused by family stress :-(
Therefore I've gone back to good old mr hardy's Sauvignon blanc for company which was a £6 spend :-(

    Need topick myself up pronto......

  • Today i have started thinking about my 2013 budget and what I want to achieve.

    These main priorities are:
    - pay back all my debt (should start year about £9k)
    - start a emergency fund. I have no savings in case of any emergency that should arise.
    - still to get to weight target (1 stone to lose)

How am I going to do this?
I wanted to pay the whole debt off by dec 13 from my full time work and save the money for a year from my 2nd job...... However - after calculating in car running costs, big birthdays, anticipated rise in council tax, rent etc, it means that I can only afford today off £6.5k from full time work.

    My new strategy is:

    - pay back £6.5k from full time work ( means I am £2.5k short on my goal)
    - currently saving £200 for petrol each month but as thread above states I now should be spending about £70 a month, this means i should have £1.5 as a final payment
    - try and claw as much as i can towards the final £1k deficit doing eBay,car boots, ad hoc teaching jobs, selling my soul etc etc
    - pray that I can come under budget several times in my categories to help towards that £1k deficit

    ROLL ON 2013 !!!!!

  • This week focus . aims and priorities:

    - get back on the diet!
    - food shop tomorrow
    - plan meals for the week so I can shop cheaply
    - not drink as much... I will save a fortune!
    - get friends birthday pressie out the way
    - DO THE IRONING!
    - finalise that 2013 budget
    - keep the focus on why I am doing this... Hard slog : yes! ... Forever: no!
    - get more bits onto eBay
    - transfer money from PayPal into my account so i can pay a bill without going back into debt just paid off.

Think that's plenty to get on with this week!

  • I think I've got issues with my OCD on the challenges!

    Re: £2 savers club

Had to go for a hospital appointment today and was running late. Didn't have cash for the carpark... Get out to get cash.... Go m&s to break £10 note..... Get 2x £2 coins change and a £5 note.

Heart sinks as I realise I need to use them for the carpark....

Get to hospital and the car park is £3 (no change given) think to myself " I am not losing my 2 coins!"

Drive to another car park that I can pay upon return

Finally get to appointment and get seen and go back to break the £5 note and get to keep my £2 coins :-)

Taking this to the extreme when you would rather be very late for hospital rather than give up your coins lol!!!!!

Congrats on hitting 20% of your debts cleared too!!! I hope you didn't think I was being cheeky when I posted I'd got to 21%... SInce then I had to take 1% out so am back at 20% anyway lol...

Is good to know another person on that challenge and maybe we can encourage each other!!!

Great idea to do a diary too!

    :T

Ps. Hope you get your TV fixed... but please - never say luck doesn't go your way... I really believe what we say can shape things... so instead say - you are a money magnet - and you are attracting money enough to pay for a TV repair :D
