IB50 application form not responded to

If they had not recieved your ib50 form they would have stopped your benefit. They will write to you if they need you to attend a medical or not but if you are worried ring them Because if they have not had it back they will pick up on it sooner or later and you will end up filling in another form in. An IB50 form is sent to people to assess if medical action ( going to a PCA ) is needed. So It may be a few months until you hear and have to go for a medical from that form. It all depends on your condition and everyone is different. Ring them they will advise you.

They would not stop anyones benefit without writing to them to see why the ib50 had not been returned,it could have been lost in the post,this has happened and is the reason many people send any correspondence to the DWP by recorded delivery.

On reflection ,i will modify my original post to say that the op does not need to check if the DWP have received the ib50,they would have been in touch if they had not and if THEY have lost it,thats their problem.Again i would say, do nothing until you hear from them,which you will one way or another ,I think the delay will be due to a backlog.

I also think that after 20 years on ib and i assume invalidity benefit prior to this you will know all about the PCA and whats involved!!

Had a phone call today inviting me for a medical in a fortnight! Haven't been for a medical in 8+ yrs. My partner is self employed and works from home. When I answered the call I used the business name - they asked me if I was working. I did explain I was just answering the phone for my partner. But I'm now worried in case they think I am working - which I'm not. Feel terrified - not looking forward to the medical at all.
Any advice appreciated. Poc

Good luck Poc, I sympathise I too have ME/CFS and had a medical last year.

Don't worry about using the business name when answering the phone, I'm sure if you explained it is your partners business and it is based at home they will understand.
