Someone has just told me that RM say that the first photo on a listing should be the kitchen and not the front of the property.

I personally prefer to see the front of the property first.

What do other people think?

    Front of the property.

When I see a house on the search results that has a photo other than the front of the property, I immediately assume it's got a butt ugly exterior. And so far, that's always been the case!

Of course if you have a butt ugly property it's probably best to have a photo of the kitchen. ;)
  • Front of property.

I don't bother to click if there is nothing that grabs me and this would never be the kitchen.
    Thinking critically since 1996....
  • Front of the property.

Anything else makes me think that the vendor has something to hide.
  • Front of the property.

All the listings that use an interior shot first usually look crap on the exterior!
  • Front of the property. I am always suspicious that there is something wrong with it otherwise!
  • Definitely front of the property. The things I search for tend to be flats and if there's no photo of the front of the property I do tend to assume it'll be a flat in a council block (which in our area are very obviously so IYSWIM).

The front of the property, photgraphed from the street.

If it's a flat at the back of the building or a few floors up, a general photo to show the building in general.

    The dining room.

NAH! Just kidding! Definately the front of the property. I won't even click on a house which I don't like the look of, and if it's not the first picture on Rightmove I assume (usually correctly) that the front of the property isn't pleasant to look at.

Ours should be on Rightmove next week and if the first photo isn't the front of the property I'll be getting it changed!

front of the property every time for me, especially if i am looking to buy locally, that way i can roughly tell what area it is and quickly discount it if it looks as though it's in an area i have ruled out.
also i agree with the other posters, i would think that there is something to hide, like on a bad estate.
Corduroy pillows are making headlines! Back home in London now after 27years wait! Duvet know it's Christmas, not original, it's a cover.
