Where to stay near Cheshire oaks??

On our 25th wedding anniversary last year, we stayed at Peckforton Castle. It is that beautiful, castle hotel, that was in the news after a disgruntled groom set fire to it.
I just looked on laterooms.com and there are some dates costing only £75 for a twin room with breakfast. (we only paid £59 last year for both of us.)
It was an experience of a lifetime for us, and still can't believe that we stayed there. There is a birds of prey centre just outside the castle entrance, and peacocks roam the grounds. (looking at their website they now have animals there including meercats.)
If you go on the Peckforton Castle website, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on image gallery, there's lots of photos.
I don't know how near to Cheshire Oaks the castle is.
I thought It has burnt down?
15min drive maxIt is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
Continuing to say, we didn't have to pay for any of the experiences to meet the birds of prey, you could just meet them in their outside enclosures.
We didn't have an evening meal at the hotel, (we actually went to a McDonalds in Chester) but the buffet self service breakfast was scrumptious, with a great variety to choose from.

Hiya, I live by Cheshire Oaks (my daughter works there).
If you wanted somewhere cheap there is a Travel Lodge which has not long opened on the Coliseum which is right next to Cheshire Oaks. There are lots of restaurants (Prezzo, Miller & Carter, Bella Pasta, Nandos, Frankie & Bennys, Chiquitos ect).
All of these are within walking distance so you wouldn't need to drive if you wanted to have a drink or 2  .
The new Marks and Spencer is open now aswell.
Cheshire Oaks are doing the tree lighting on the 15th Nov.
I'd second this! The new travel lodge is perfectly situated for this. Plus loads of choice of really good places to eat.0 -
