Hello,
Dh and I are having a night away at the end of the month and fancy staying near Cheshire oaks.
Can anyone recommend a nice but reasonably priced hotel? We are driving so doesn't have to be on the doorstep.
Also needs to be somewhere to eat the night before and a opulent of drinks, but a quiet pub is fine, doesn't need loads of nightlife
Thank you x

I can't recommend a place to stay but The Chimneys (a pub) in Hooton serves the most amazing food. We live about an hour away but go there for lunch quite often and have never been disappointed.0

If you can get a cheap deal there is a De Vere not far from it (about a 10/15 minutes drive away) it's got a bar and restaurant in it, theres a doubletree hilton as well not far away near chester Zoo, again if you can get a deal for it it's not massivley expensive. I've stayed in both of these in the past when they've had the deals onI know the rules of punctuation and grammer I just choose to ignore them (or forget them half the time)... Apologies in advance0

Hiya, I live by Cheshire Oaks (my daughter works there).
If you wanted somewhere cheap there is a Travel Lodge which has not long opened on the Coliseum which is right next to Cheshire Oaks. There are lots of restaurants (Prezzo, Miller & Carter, Bella Pasta, Nandos, Frankie & Bennys, Chiquitos ect).
All of these are within walking distance so you wouldn't need to drive if you wanted to have a drink or 2  .
The new Marks and Spencer is open now aswell.
Cheshire Oaks are doing the tree lighting on the 15th Nov.0 -
Hi
We recently stayed in a B&B on Hoole Rd Chester. The one we stayed at was The Cheltenham Lodge but there were quite a few along there. Cheltenham Lodge has very period decor but was very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. Its about 10 min from Cheshire Oaks. There are a number of small restaurants in the area.0 -
Depends where you are coming in from but have you considered staying in Chester? It's not too far to drive to Cheshire Oaks. I stayed in the Travelodge right in town. There's plenty of pubs (two Wetherspoons which obv. have reasonably priced drinks). Can do a bit of shopping while you are there too
and walk the wall?

We had a lovely 2 day stay at the McDonald Hotel Claxton Wood which is only a couple of miles from Cheshire Oakes
Was even better as I used Tesco vouchers to book it!

On our 25th wedding anniversary last year, we stayed at Peckforton Castle. It is that beautiful, castle hotel, that was in the news after a disgruntled groom set fire to it.
I just looked on laterooms.com and there are some dates costing only £75 for a twin room with breakfast. (we only paid £59 last year for both of us.)
It was an experience of a lifetime for us, and still can't believe that we stayed there. There is a birds of prey centre just outside the castle entrance, and peacocks roam the grounds. (looking at their website they now have animals there including meercats.)
If you go on the Peckforton Castle website, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on image gallery, there's lots of photos.
I don't know how near to Cheshire Oaks the castle is.0 -

We have just booked craxton wood for our daughters wedding...Oh the pain..;)It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0
