Does anyone know the rough cost of a replacement water pump for a peugeot 206 (2003) including parts and labour?
thanks in advance.

The pump is driven by the timing belt - so it's make sense to replace that at the same time. Based on a 1.4l petrol model the pumps look to be £30-50 on eurocarparts (no doubt a little more from your garage.)
Labourwise it'd be a similar price to changing the timing belt (which is the major work - usually it's recommended to change the water pump when doing cambelt.) This thread from last year suggests £130-£170 again based on the 1.4 - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/24792730 -
Thank you James - it is 1.4
Not as bad as I thought - its going in next week so fingers crossed.
thanks again.0 -
Don't economise by just having the belt done. Have the mechanic buy the kit including belt, pulley/tensioner too.I am a mortgage broker. This makes good sense, as a rough guide of price (again taken from eurocarparts) the belt alone sells for £12-25 and the kits start at about £40, there are several in the £60 range and some for nearly £100 - it looks like the more expensive ones include the water pump judging from these two which are the same brand (it's not specified but the second one has an extra component.) -
