Hope you all have a good day.

its lovely isnt it , i dont have a dog ( wish i did though) we have just had a couple of days in scarborough and yesterday morning we were sat having coffee on the front watching a chap throwing a ball into the sea and 2 dogs belting in, jumping over waves and swimming back with the ball , they looked like they were having so much fun , we certainly enjoyed watching them
BB hope the heartburn has gone , its horrible , i always get it if i drink wine ( so now i dont)
carly hope you get that sorted
bright and sunny here today , DD2 is coming back from newark this afternoon she has been on a team building course for the week . picking her up and then shooting down to get DD1 and bring her back for the weekend

Hi all
Sunny day here today; and thankfully the lake that the field had turned into has more or less drained down, just a bit still flooded at the bottom.
It'll be Mary's last night here tonight;:( Dylan will arrive tomorrow, for nine days.:T I've checked on the information sheet from last time he stayed, and it doesn't particularly mention him being scared of fireworks; we'll be prepared to keep him distracted, just the same, though.;) I dislike the dratted things myself, and it's so upsetting to see a dog cowering under the table because of all the loud bangs and whistles coming from outside.
Judi I know what you mean about losing confidence; I'm the same. I can't even have Mr LW watching me while I'm dishing up dins, or I get so nervous that I shake.:( Literally! I'm sure it's to do with not being able to do things I used to - stuff that used to take me 5 minutes flat now takes half an hour, and exhausts me. I even have to use both hands to open a door knob these days, can't do it one-handed.:(
Mr LW has to go for his flu jab tomorrow - he gets offered it because he's my Carer. I was going to go with him and wait in the car, in case he's not up to scratch for driving home, but he's said no, he'll be fine. He's going to do the F&V run first, though, so that at least he can come straight home.;)
I think I just heard the post arrive, so better see what horrors we have today.:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Right better get my butt into gear. Not sleeping very well lately, KC and her various squeaks and demands, snoring dog, waking children so feel tired but I need to get moving
Im another who is not sleeping brilliantly all because of my doggies.
Poppy heard her first firework on Tuesday night and has been a wreck ever since. They are both sleeping in with us - Molly on my side of the bed ! Poppy happier today though but the fireworks will start with a vengeance tonight:eek::eek::eek:
Just back from Osteo and Cranial and feel much better now.
Hugs xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
OMG (as DD would say)
Just made these cinnamon buns - http://whatscookingamerica.net/Bread/CinnamonRollsFantastic.htm
they are amazing, the dough is beautiful, so easy to work, and the taste, well I hope they last till tomorrow night, or I,ll have to make more.:p
Sorry to rave, but the kids just shrugged and munched when I got a bit over enthusiastic....:oNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Sistercas - whenever I take my girls out and we meet other dogwalkers they always comment along the lines of 'why do you let them get so dirty'? (see homepage for a sample of our walks!!) Excuse me - they are springer spaniels, we live in the country and they are proper country dogs. Sure, my floors get dirty, but they can be washed, sure their beds get soggy but they can be washed, sure my kitchen sometimes smells of wet dog but windows can be opened. To see three happy spaniels gently steaming, quietly snoring and 'catching rabbits in their sleep' in front of the woodburner on these dark evening is one of those '5 OS pleasure in your day' moments.
Mind you, I was always the mum at the school gate on a rainy day saying 'yay, let's go puddle jumping'! Kids (and dogs) love mud and life is too short to keep saying 'mind the puddle, you don't want to get dirty' - actually, yes, we DO want to get dirty.

Lillibet, me & DH love to see dirty dogs enjoying themselves when we go out walking
Not much OS going on, still got scaffolding up, allotment is slowly being put to bed for the winter, DH still working 60+ hour weeks over 6 days, but hey, I've still got a job (for now - Local Government so due another round of cuts), as has DH, and we're both relatively healthy apart from the odd snuffle.
Hugs to all who would like one

Ooooeer missus!
We have brilliant sunshine here - but have had 2 minutes of the most incredible hailstorm. All the car alarms are going off! We've had alternate hail & sunshine all morning, with incredibly gusty wind as well, but we're on the Fylde coast so a bit of breeze off the Irish Sea is quite normal!0 -
I am super excited that I now have an old Singer sewing machine!
It is from about 1939 and is beautiful! Only does straight stitch - so no zig zag or back stitch - but I mostly do little crafty things so it should be fine.
Just have to find a sturdy folding table as I don't have room to have it out all of the time.
I feel very old fashioned (attempting!!) to sew on it!0 -
I was once walking along the river bank near me when a black lab jumped out of the water & jumped up at me, I was soaked & covered in muddy paw prints, the owner was mortified, but TBH, I didn't mind.
