We have glorious sunshine here again. Not much wind though so don't know whether the washing will dry much.
Congratulations to Martin and Lara on the birth of their daughter - such lovely news.
Well, where did half-term week go? DD has been doing lots of studying (year 11 = GCSE:eek:) so I haven't had the usual ' can we go to ..... can you take me to ..... It's meant that I have been able to get a few bits done in the house before we really hunker down for winter. Have done a bit of batch cooking and 'overcooking' when making meals so the freezer is looking quite healthy. I also enjoy having the luxury of time to take my dogs on a really long walk each day. We live one field away from a large wood and to see three springer spaniels tearing through brambles and bracken, kicking up leaves and jumping fallen logs makes my heart sing.
Hope you all have a good day.

Hugs to BB, you seem to be going through it a bit ATM.
    FS, that recipe sounds yummy.
JO, glad your DD is safe.
Hubby is going to spend an hour in the garden today, I'm so pleased he developed an interest in gardening, it tends to keep his BD/PTSD away.
No idea what else we are doing, I need to finish bottoming the kitchen, I was half way through when DD came for a visit. Her MIL & FIL had taken DGS out for the day, making a huge fuss about how he was their favourite, leaving DD & DGD's a bit deflated, so she bought them over here as hubby & I are always evenhanded.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning all :)

This thread moves fast these days...I never seem to catch it in time! :)

I have not been having such a good half term as the bad cold I was just getting over turned into an inner ear infection (labyrinthitis) which meant I woke up on Wednesday completely unable to sit up, let alone stand, as I had such bad vertigo. Feeling a bit better today but I feel as though most of my half term has just been wasted :( haven't done any work yet either, need to crack on with marking, planning and reports.

Just getting all furious about the stupid OFQUAL lady on the news this morning. She sounds like she has no clue what she's on about...which is slightly worrying!

We have OH's daughter staying with us this weekend, she arrived last night, came down on the train on her own for the first time which is quite exciting. I love her to bits but I do find it slightly stressful having her to stay - I am used to it just being OH and I in our home and I am NOT used to having a teenager around. She only stays a few times a year as usually OH goes to see her every other weekend and they stay in a hotel (and I go with him quite often) because she lives about 300 miles away. We are having a curry and movie night tonight and tomorrow night we are doing fireworks and I am doing a special bonfire night meal so it should be a nice weekend. Assuming I am feeling well enough to cook!

Hope everyone has a good day xx

    Morning all,

((((hugs)))) to you Carly. I hope the bullying gets sorted today.

I cold and miserable day here in the Midlands. Heating on full (and i'm tempted to put on the gas fire too).

Looks like ive been nominated to bake cakes again for the guys at hubbies work. Hubby owes the site foreman a favour (something to do with hours) and the foreman has asked for cakes. Oh dear i wish they wouldnt do that! Its as much as i can do to cook a half decent meal these days without burning it.

I cant get out of it so i am thinking of making a few cupcakes. Fingers crossed i dont burn them or something. My confidence is sadly lacking these days and jobs i used to be able to tackle with ease fill me with dread these days.

Hoping for a free listing day on Ebay this weekend as i need to think about Christmas.

Dailies will get done when they get done. I'm taking it easy today as i still feel slightly bleugh from yesterday.

    Have a good Friday all.

    Morning all,

Just on my way out as I have the car today. Only have it once a week if that so try and make the most of it.
So this morning charity shops and another mooch round for something for the wedding, decided against the dress.
Then I have a dentist appointment at lunch time, as I think the tooth behind the one they took out is infected. I honestly think dentistry is a bit hit and miss. I find mine totally rely on me to point them in the right direction. My dentist are a husband and wife team. Seeing the hubby today so hopefully he will do better:eek:
Mum and dad are staying for the weekend so need to do a food shop looking forward to seeing them both. They are off to Australia mid november so will be there for the wedding, staying with my brother , they often go for two months at Christmas to miss the worst of the weather and enjoy the sunshine.
Sticky noodles sound fab, may give those a try tonight. Have a good Friday whatever your up to x

  • Good morning everyone :)

Beautiful day here and I was up at 5:30 and the washing was on the line before I left for work at 6:30, with shower and dressing inbetween!

Left over beef for dinner with noodles and sesame brocolli. I like the sound of those sticky chicken noodles and will be having a go at that one day soon.

Used Morisson's fuel save for the first time yesterday. DD asked me to get gadget for GDD for Christmas so I bought PC World vouchers and got 12p per litre voucher. Am very impressed and may be offering to buy more gifts on her behalf to see where else I can get vouchers for.

Roof should be fixed today but still waiting for meter to be sorted and am not holding my breath.

Well back to work so well wishes for sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Have a super day :)

Morning ladies and any gents :D
Dull here again. Roll on crisp sunny November days. Well a girl can dream :rotfl:
Got a birthday party this morning which I am going to have to drag DS to  hope there's no loud music there or I will have problems :o
Not sure what's for tea tonight. Might aim for Cajun chicken.
Other than that no huge OS plans, more entertaining kids, washing and fun stuff like that.

Right better get my butt into gear. Not sleeping very well lately, KC and her various squeaks and demands, snoring dog, waking children so feel tired but I need to get moving

Hugs and spoons all round xxx

BB hope heartburn is ok xx

Carly :( hope you get the bullying sorted out xxxx

  • Morning everyone!
Got up bright and early with the kids and got to school early as they were doing a second hand uniform sale each item at 20p, got a few bits for ds2 ready for next year. £1 well spent I think!!!
Had a nice bacon buttie and a coffee when I got in, out ds2 down for his nap and had half hour of chill out time.
Checked bank balances and sent some money to our savings account.
Loaded the dw but put it on a normal cycle to clear it as my pots have come out cloudy, seems to have done the trick.
Will be preparing our dinner soon in the sc, I feel a takeaway secrets curry coming on!! ;)
Won't be doing any washing till hubs comes home as I am sticking to a wash on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday only, this has saved me some £'s on my electric meter so I'm sticking to it!
I've sat and menu planned for next week and written my shopping list and gone though the cupboards.
Just need to get tidied up, feed ds2, whip round with the vac and prep dinner.
It's been a bit if a chilli morning so the heating has had to go on....brrrrrr !
