Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 2nd Nov. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning Ladies,
Frosty here this morning, DH had to scrape the car
.
I've been up since 2.45am with heartburn....had some milk and started drifting off at 4.30am downstairs on the sofa watching TV. So really need my bed.....
Today, My old lady this morning, then nip to town for minimal bits, DD1 coming home today.
Tea tonight is fish for DH, Duck egg omlette for me, fish for kiddies.
Have lovely ones xx

Good morning bargainbird and to those who cross/follow,
Chilly here today.
Hubby is at work, girls and Jasper are still asleep. I think i have to take the girls into town. Hubby will pick them up on his way home from work. I will take Jasper out for a long walk later on.
Washing is on the airer. I need to get another couple of loads done today.
bargainbird, hope your heartburn eases. Sounds like you have a busy day, you will certainly look forward to some sleep tonight.
Tea tonight is sticky chicken noodles. Salad needs using up too.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

bargainbird, sticky chicken noodles are,
Boil some of the dried plain noodles. Dice chicken and stir fry, add spring onions and peppers, or whatever you fancy. Add honey and soy sauce (alot more soy sauce than the honey). Don't know how much of each because i just taste as i go along. When there is a reasonable amount of liquid so that it will coat the noodles and the flavour it is to your liking, add the noodles. Quick and easy. I sometimes add cooked pasta if i haven't got any noodles.

Good Morning everyone brr its a chilly one this morning but at least its dry for the moment anyway.I have a flask of coffee to make for our trip to London and a few goodies to add to the bag then its off round to DDs and we will make an early start.Drive up to Greenwich then on the thames boat to the Tower of London DD has already bought the Tower tickets so at least we won't have to queue up too much.Have a great day everyone whatever you are doing last day of the half term and then its back to school for most.My youngest DGS Mikey has next monday and Tuesday off though as they are 'inset' days that have been tagged onto the half term so I think he and I will be probably staying indoors and maybe doing some baking
Cheers chums

Morning all, very chilly here this morning. Blue skies and sunshine though which is beautiful to see.
Have to do a supermarket run today as OH coming for the weekend. Lunch will be a sandwich, dinner almost certainly stir fry.
Working from home today, so hopefully will get lots done.
Still trying to catch up on my washing and 1 day behind on the Flylady stuff.
Busy week next week at work, so hopdfully will get ahead with household bit this weekend.
Hope everyone's situation improves in health and any other problems they are having.
Thanks Lamewolf for clarifying about the lupus etc. That's really hard for both of you.'Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.' T S Eliot0 -
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Very little cloud, sun now coming up, but it's chilly here this morning. DH up and off to work stupid early.
Dinner last night was omlettes, chips/salad, coleslaw/pasta salad, really enjoyed by us all. I haven't got a clue what we will be having for dinner but I will be heading out this morning to do some chores, I need to visit the bank, do a food shop etc. I would like to get some baking/cooking done either today or tomorrow morning whilst DH is at work.
Was reasonably productive yesterday, after we'd been to the dentist (£17 and I was in the chair all of 3-5 mins) and dentist didn't actually do anything except say I needed to have some work done and wanted me to book 4 more appointments for 20 mins each at £40 per visit!:eek:Not particularly impressed with this dentist - I have an ongoing problem with my gums (brought on from when I had my children), and I've been petrified of dentists for years after a bad childhood experience too, her bedside manner leaves a bit to be desired and it really takes a lot for me just to go, I start worrying about it once the appointment is booked. I also asked her to do a clean for me and she just ignored me. I will go to this next appointment and will time what time I go in and what time I spend in the chair and what time I come out and if I feel I'm being fleeced I will be making a complaint. My old dentist left and she is his replacment and I'm not impressed (as if you couldn't tell!!!). I will also ask to be transferred to another dentist within the practice, the first appointment I had with her she hurt me during a treatment as she was so rough and I said to the Receptionist about it when I came out and she said then as she was a replacement dentist I could change if I wanted to but me being me thought I'd give her the benefit of the doubt!!
Did all the ironing and did a quick s & s, so whilst the house is not spotless it's not a pit.
Have a great Friday everyone x :j:j:j
Have a great day everyone x

Morning all,
Been raining most of the night, but blue skys now, got the wm on will try and do 2 loads before I go out, they will have to go on the airer or drapped about though as more rain due later.
Off out for the day with dd, we are off to Portsmouth, shopping, I hope to get the majority of the last bits of my xmas shopping done today, I just need to get stocking fillers for dd, and a main present and stocking fillers for OH, and something for my mum, then I am done :j, we will have a nice lunch out (my treat) and then dd buys us a costa or starbucks on the way home, which Is a real treat, as I would never pay that price for a drink:D
Not sure whats for dinner, dd os off to work at 5, so it will just be OH and I, she can grab something when she gets back.
BB I am envious of your duck eggs, they are my favourite, and they make a beautiful cake xxxx
Meant to say, my sistercas fund had come in very handy for Xmas bits, have bought everything out of there so far, and it really helps not using my 'normal' money. Talking of Sistercas, where are you love ?? hope you are ok xxx
OK have good days all xxx0
