I'm not bothered about home start, I know a mechanic
I joined AA last year for £39 and got a £20 M&S voucher.
They wanted to charge me £70 at renewal so I cancelled it.
I joined again a couple of weeks later for £28.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
For the past four years now I've just bounced between RAC and AA - albeit for their lowest level of cover. Costs me £10 per year after cashback.0

Yep, I've also quaified for their new Gold Membership after 13 years.
And you have guessed it, they have increased my membership costs by over 100% !!!!!! From £79.00 to almost £160.00.
But the good news is that I don't have to do anything as they will pick pocket my bank account on the 1st of December as I pay by continious direct debit.
Just got off the phone to my personal advisor who waffled on about price increases and many advantages of the new membership including 40% off tyres from leading suppliers, who are at least 40% more expensive than independent dealers, and harped on about their new wonderful key insurance if I was to lose a key. I haven't yet lost one, but my household policy covers me for that in any event including my car!!!!
Anyway after looking into my membership usage he reduced my policy to £118.00. Not good enough I told him and off he went to speak to his manager. Final offer was £103.00 as I haven't called them out for a couple of years. That is still a 30% increase on my policy of last year, so now it's time to shop around for some better quotes and then have another pop at the AA, if only to go and tell them to get stuffed!!!0 -
RAC just the same. Got membership renewal £72.50 less Membership Discount = £67.50
Went online - same cover £42.00
Spoke to advisor who willingly would reduce cover to match online price. She had the good grace to say she couldn't understand the policy to charge existing members more than they could get as a new member.
Decided to wait till actual renewal date and go via Topcashback!0 -
I was with the RAC for many years until earlier this year they tried it on. I joined the AA at a much reduced cost. If they try it on at renewal I will be off.

I drove one of them in the 1960's. Just before Alex Isagonner brought out the Mini-me.0 -

I don't want to bore everyone with the facts but I had a nasty experience with every part of the company from their policy to the lack of professionalism at the call centre.
I was one of those that swung between RAC and AA year by year because of the "offer to newcomers" that is invariably there. Rather than cheating by changing a letter of my surname, I just floated between them but I need a new partner for RAC for 2014-15.
I'm guessing Green Flag but I have doubts about them. Is there anything good about Green Flag?
So what happened at TheAAI hate migraines.0
