I'm sorry I've been absent, but Nursie has been keeping us rather busy. Given that we've a small 1 bed unit, there was no getting away from her. I must thank you sometime in person for sending her GQ
.
Hubby has been having a rough time, he had a drug reaction which made certain areas of skin just drop off. He's now much better, though I feel this is despite Nursies kind attentions rather than as a result of them.
I've been continuing physio, it's an uphill battle balancing out the knee with the tumour, but just last week we had a bit of a breakthrough so I'm optimistic. Curiously enough my pain reduction coincided with the booking of Nursies return flight.
Sorry I've missed your troubles and haven't been of support, but for a couple of weeks I was at the end of my tether here and we were both feeling pretty depressed, I didn't want to whinge more and couldn't offer anything to anyone. But I'm sending love now xxSoftstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Kidcat, I'd be inclined to call the company who manufactured the wardrobe and purchase a new pack of fixings explaining the problem to them. I'd then put up the darned thing and tell him to P.O.
But then I don't have your patience and would have had a bonfire with the shed parts too by now.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Oh softstuff we have missed you - sorry you have had more medical stuff to deal with - on the plus side it wasnt you this time which isnt much consolation I know.
I started physio last week and have to say I suffered for it though - hope yours is going better than mine
As for the wardrobe - I have a friend calling into Ikea tomorrow she thinks they will replace them for me - cos we are determined this week we are gonna build the thing.0 -
Ikea are very good at things like that. I found them very helpful. Good on you for giving it a goClearing the junk to travel light

Ah, IKEA! They're great that way, so you'll have no bother. And as for building it, piece of cake.
You know, I prefer it when it's me that's sick. It's easier to deal with than the worry of him being.
My physio's been going for months now. Don't get disheartened when it hurts more because of physio, it's a knock you down to build you up kind of thing. I'm a complicated case though, but she's determined to fix me.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
KIDCAT lovie, it sounds to me as if your parents need to grow up a little bit, that is the action of a spoiled child, it has to be the way I want it to so I'll manipulate the situation to where it WILL be the way I want it! That's outrageous behaviour from an adult, let alone your parent. They don't deserve you, and you deserve much better than that, stay strong pet, Cheers Lyn xxx.0

:T Pleased to hear it's Ike@: I emailed them for replacement fittings for a wardrobe and they were here within the week. (And it seems odd to think of a grown man using the "it's my ball" tactic.)‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Morning toughies, very windy here today but no rain as of yet. It says it 14 degrees but factor in the wind and its a lot lower.
DD fianc! finally admitted defeat and has had to admit he has tooth ache. He last had a visit over 10 years ago!!! So I booked him in as an emergency and hes had a temporary filling. Lots more to happen, so I will be going with him and possibly subbing him a few pounds. Its funny as I see him as my own son now.
KIDCAT how sad that your dad has insisted on keeping you hung over a barrel. I hope IKE@ is able to sort out some fixings for the wardrobe. As for the shed, that's possibly a bit more tricky.
Families, some are so strange aren't they. We visit OH sister and her family Its all 'kicking' off reguarding uncles funeral arrangements. Some want a cheap low key affair, and are worrying about what has been left money wise. These are the same ones that never even bothered to visit or call before he died.
SOFTSTUFF glad to see you posting again, hope your getting some nice sunshine.
Well I need to do some cleaning, I tried to do the windows and lets just say they are worse than when I started... Washing to peg out and finally tea to prepare.
Take care everyone.BSC member 137

Morning all
Hear that? It's silence - kids are back at school:D Actually, I rather like the holidays and hate the get up / get moving / get out thing of school days. OUt for lunch with a girly chum later, meanwhile I am catching up on laundry and cleaning the kitchen as a precursor to the rest of the houseDeep joy.
The more I read about some other families on here, the more I feel that mine is / was only mildly disfunctional. There have been rows and silences for sure, but they generally worked themselves out. When my favourite auntie died, widowed, fairly wealthy and childless but with 7 brothers and sisters and 16 nieces and nephews, I was staggered at how there were no arguments and no fallings out at all. Even her stuff was divided up amicably. She had left some (quite a lot) of jewellery to her 3 nieces (me, my sister and my cousin) but was robbed just before she died when she went into hospital for a while. The insurance paid out but that money went into her general estate which was to be divided amongst her brothers and sisters. However they agreed that the insurance money should come to us 3 anyway. FOr my sister it was a godsend as she was deeply in debt incurred by a former partner. I bought a couple of keepsake pictures and the rest my OH and I used in the following way:
Every time we went out for a meal, or just somewhere nice, if we ended up having a bottle of wine that was a bit pricier or we spent a little more than planned on what we wanted, we would be spending "Barb's money". I am sure Barb's money carried on far longer than the actual amount that was left and I still do it occasionally "Oh s0d it - let's spend Barb's money". I still rather like it as a way to remember someone, and Barb was someone who lived life to the full and always liked the best of everything so would very much have approved!
A friend's dad left each of his grandchildren £200 in his will "to be spent frivolously". The parents were not allowed to interfere or invest or save the money and they all stuck to it. Imagine a kid in a toy shop with £200 to spend!!
Ah well, best get onI wanna be in the room where it happens0
