The post today is a booket from mr t, seems he has missed me shopping there again. The are double points vouchers, and some money off coupons, surprisingly they are all for items i would buy. Even a money off coupon on the basic range too. Im not particular to any supermarket, just whoever has a nice money off coupon. Mr S was blessed with me last time i shopped as he naughtily gave me 2 different vouchers for a total of £14 off a £40 shop. Mr m is doing another promotion of £10 off a £35 shop when you have shopped there for 3 consecutive weeks, effectivly £10 off a £140 shop. No chance of me taking part then. Some weeks i only buy fresh stuff like bread and milk.
Do any of you lovely people use the supermarket delivery services, just wondered if they make your shopping bills cheaper?BSC member 137

nuttyp.
I do asDA home del. I find it good as I don't impulse buy, I don't forget things as it's all there in front of you and I don't overspend as it keeps a running total as you shop.
I do wonder if I miss offers as they do seem harder to notice online.0 -
Nuttyp, I use MrT home delivery, but only for those items I know they have cheaper than anywhere else and when I have enough vouchers/offer codes to offset the delivery charge.Spend less now, work less later.0

Will come in very handy

Mcculloch - thanks for the suggestion re the ribbons. Will have a think about what kind of decorations will go with them. I can do basic sewing so should be able to make something. One life - your life - live it!0

The talk of vouchers has prompted me to look on t****co's site, and am delighted to report I have £6.50 in vouchers I'd no idea I had - yippee! Not been there for ages, so may tootle in before the end of the week.
I never get vouchers through the post for any SM - how do you all receive them? Don't get them emailed either.
Re ribbons, sure I've seen in various places online some rag wreaths, using ribbons - g009le it and see! I got chocs for mothering Sunday, wrapped with about 2' of bright red grosgrain ribbon, now added to my stash! :rotfl:

Sounds promising on the job Fuddle.
I've definitely noticed some price increases although I think you'll find Mr T being careful on their prices for the near future as they have just started their price promise again (capped at £10 from the start this time), and it has been noticed that they have dropped cheaper than Asda quite considerably for some things.
Parents' evening tonight and I had to go on my own as both children have still been poorly today so I didn't want their germs to go to the PILs. Luckily, happy reports for them both. I've got their bug too though and am coughing all over the joint.
Horribly cold here but no settling snow. I dread to think what the elec and gas bills are going to be.0 -
Possession,
Same worries here with the gas and elec bills, I pay monthly by direct debit and fixed the price till 2014 I think?, but I can't imagine what they will jump to after that, there never seems to be good news on that front.
I know a family that have had the heating off for so long they are all used to it and frequently have the windows open for fresh air in the winter ....brrrr! I have my thermals on and leave my coat on when I visit, luckily they are not offended, just sat round in t-shirts0 -
I shopped home deliv. with asda this week and only realised I had qualified for an offer when I looked at my invoice and stuff practically put away. It is harder to find bargains online but when you're looking to keep within budget it's an invaluable tool.
Made my first ever risotto tonight and it was lovely! Flavoured with smoked bacon and cheese. I toasted bread then put garlic/parsley butter I too and popped under grill. Really nice meal and really quite cheap. We're not big bacon fans so will be trying a different recipe but arborrito rice will be a staple from now on.
Also loving smoothies with my new whizzy machine. I have got the girls (and me!) almond milk for smoothies. Apparently it's higher protein and not sat fat so much more relevent for trying to get the little dears to put on weight. Youngest takes after me (poor kid) so is really very cutily chunky but eldest is so slender and only 3 lb heavier than her younger sister. Mind she's been kickboxing today and loved it. She doesn't sit still.
Loving how my kids are oblivious to how bliddy tough things are. I stand there almond milk in one hand, full fat in the other battling with myself pros and cons, need/want wasteful/not wasteful, luxury/staple, frivolous/frugal over ruddy milk for goodness sakes! They haven't a clue what is goin on in my head and I'd like to keep it that way.
I feel like I age by the day though. I feel stressed and squeezed and on tenterhooks. This time last year it was difficult and it wasn't as bad as it is now. How the heck we will cope with what is thrown at us this time next year I don't know. Being a grown up in the real world is hard, I'm feeling down because this is my first experience of austerity/recession/cuts/taxes and then I think of you all that are going through this for the second and third times.
Contentment and stability. Those words are way underrated!0
