    Good morning all

Monnagran - you're just looking for an excuse to rip those knickers off....we know! (hope you find the answer to your issue, ruddy annoying when you get the itch)

Possession - lovely bunnies! When DD2 saw them on FB she put in a plea for just one....pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee.......but I'm obviously a mean mummy and she's coming to live with you.....I told her you wouldn't mind, expect her after lunch.

Both DDs and DH have this chesty yuck thats doing the rounds, I had it before Christmas so I can empathise, I spent most of last Night listening to coughs from various directions. DD1 is off to a concert in London tonight so I shall does her up well before she goes.

I need to pack more kitchen stuff away today, strip some more wallpaper, catch up on the washing and ironing, chop some more wood, finish painting my dresser top, undercoat the bottom bit, cook dinner, sort the dishwasher, cut DHs hair, keep the place reasonably tidy and maybe, just maybe find 10 minutes to myself. But I won't spend any money which is always a bonus.

Pooky, DD is very welcome. If anything the bunnies looked even more cute this morning, but we have to let them settle today so no cuddles until tonight.

Hey Monnagran, I have your solution right here! In the villages in Turkey all the women wear these village knickers:

They have the advantage that none of the elastic in them touches your skin. Of course, with knickers like that you can be guaranteed nothing and no-one else will touch your skin either :p

What about a mini challenge/brainstorming exercise... (and also help with my menu plan) ;)
Could the toughies devise a menu plan/shopping list, around meat from the butcher, using stuff that will stretch - so we could get most meals out of fewest ingredients ??
If this makes sense? So we could buy maybe 3 items and then miraculously make around 149 meals out of them :rotfl:Cos that's what we're going to have to be doing soon! :D

How about mince? Mince goes all over the place and can hide a [STRIKE]multitude of sins[/STRIKE] oops I meant, be stretched out with healthful additions like oats, lentils, grated carrots, beans etc.

I'm sure I've seem mince-specific cookbooks around. You could lasagne, or chili or shepherds pie or or or .......

:o Or wait for a proper cook to come by!:o

I've got a mince cookbook. The Complete Book of Mince. One consequence of this is the RV says if he gets any more mince he'll scream! :D:D

Makes sense to me mar and strive to do that anywAy, I'm listening with both ears today then!

Mince is my fallback one. I large pack of mince is split into 4. Each meal has little meat content but enough to not warrant winge from family. Carrots tend to be my bulk out ingredient of choice. Irish stew is a good one because its strong tasting with little meat and can be bulked out with veg and pearl barley. My plan is mince pack of stewing lamb (will the whizzy machine work) to make into shepherds pie day after. At the minute buying both lamb mince and lamb stewing steak but splitting it so I guess getting he same amount of meals.

MAR Hie thee to the butchers and buy a couple of kilos of boned brisket. Cook it in the slow cooker having first sealed it in a pan by frying it on all surfaces in some hot fat until it is not showing red anywhere. In the hot fat fry until just softening an onion, some celery and some mushrooms, bung in slow cooker pot then add 1 pint of boiling oxo beef stock, and whatever else you usually bung in gravy, I always chuck in a tablespoon of red wine some celery salt and some mixed spice but not much and some black pepper. Put on the lid, walk way for 8 - 10 hours. Result is succulent beef. Take out beef and use gravy granules or salt to thicken the gravy. What you now have is many meals!!!! Slice some beef and eat now then let it get cold, it will slice thinner then. Slice some more and put in containers in gravy in the freezer for another day. Blitz some in the food processor with a little butter and some worcester sauce, salt and pepper and you have potted beef. Put into jar with good sealing lid and keep in fridge for sarnies. Mince some for cottage pie, make two, freeze one. Chunk some up and use with potatoes to make meat and potato pastry pies, make 2 freeze one.
Chop some small make a casserole/stew eat half. freeze half. And don't for get to have some lovely beef sandwiches with horseradish sauce or mustard. It will stretch as far as your imagination, Cheers Lyn xxx.
