My IT guy from group uses linux only, there is no issue with viruses etc on linux so its totally safe.
  • I am in a very happy place today regarding the state of humanity! The postie brought 3 cheques from distant relatives who DH has not seen for umpteen years as donations towards the insanely expensive buggy as they had seen the facebook event we'd set up for the coffee morning fundraiser and we've had a massive response from our friends on FB to the 'event' with offers of help, donations and a request for a stall. My other friend emailed out the details to her 'list' (for village events) and we got more fantastic responses from that - All I can say is "People are Lovely" and if this is anything to go by then the future of the human race is looking rosy.

Had another lovely day out at our very favourite farm park (we've been 3 times this half term!!! they are now officially practically related to us!!) DD got more kisses from her 'best' donkey - Mary, she also stroked piglets, lambs, guinea pigs, chicks and fed a calf called Betty and went to sleep tonight smiling. I have a jolly lovely glass of wine, DH is in the bath and we are having 'stuff out of the fridge' for tea so I don't even have to cook.

It's not often I feel quite so chilled and at peace with the world so I am sending lovely chilled, peaceful vibes over t'internet to you all.

    Hugs X

Jpscloud, I found the Turkish mossies even worse than the Australian ones, I still have a few scars! The midges here are tiny, almost too small to see and sometimes get through flyscreening, when they bite it looks like measles. Sorry to hear about your back, I could mention a certain book again though.... (Sarah Keys Back Sufferers Bible).

GQ, you're turning into a regular shopaholic! Even the charity shop I work in is a bit dear to buy from repeatedly. I have had the odd bric-a-brac thing that I consider a bargain, but clothing tends to be about the $10 mark and when I can buy Ralph Lauren shirts from the outlet for $25 (which fit beautifully and have wonderful neat symmetrical seams - ironers and sewers will understand this), I save up and just have less clothes overall now.

So many people filling trollies without lists. I don't know where their money comes from. I get a shock at the tills each and every time, even though I know roughly what it's going to cost.

To be able to buy food without much thought is a luxury isn't it?

I wonder where such people get their money from sometimes Fuddle. There are women come into our charity shop with their trollies, since we're next to a supermarket and leave them next to the till. Some of these ladies are unemployed (I know that from conversations), yet have absolutely chock full trollies of very expensive stuff. I am occasionally envious, but it's mostly over fruit and veg variety. It'd be nice to buy whatever I wanted there rather than just what's cheapest. Pears might be dirt cheap at the moment, but they can also get a bit tedious!

I don't tend to shop with a list though, it'd be too restrictive. I more have in mind that I need "fruit" and pick what's cheapest when there.

And Honey crystallises when a bit of moisture gets in, but it's fine to use like that and some people even do it deliberately.

GQ, some people, your wiz included have taken against Windows 8 and hubby can't understand why (he gets all evangelical about it). He's been using it since prior to release and loves it. Since he's on it 12 hours or more a day, that's a pretty reasonable recommendation. Though you need some decent hardware (you would for 7 to run well too), it's the fastest boot ever, has some of the best tools in it and has had no compatibility problems. Some things in it have moved around is all, but he's had no "bugs". If you're after compatibility issues, Linux is chock full, though it really does enjoy a certain nerdy culty popularity ;).

Glad you've had lovely news Stiltwalker, and great you're enjoying a happy place.:T
