    Wishing you well Kidcat,
Please it has to get better for a little while at least.

It doesn't seem as cold this morning I'll regret saying that. Already had my meds, three slices of toast and jam and a mug of milky coffee. But have gone back to bed...my knees are protesting at all I did yesterday...so will be gentle with myself today.

No more snow since before Midnight. But a lot of it has compacted and some parts are icy(where the snow was removed)

I think I'll try and do something warm and comforting for a meal later probably just lots of veg and a small amount of meat in the slow cooker...

    Fuddle,
Have a look at Plusnet they have a scheme where you can pay line rental in advance bringing the price down and at present their best broadband is half price, their telephone service is v good. I believe they have unlimited access 24/7 now.

Whereas I have 60GB monthly and unlimited use between Midnight-8am. So I hope such a deal exists when I renew in April. Very few breakdowns since I signed up too.

Most phone calls are free(especially if you do that trick of not going over the hour)and then redialling.

Kidcat:- sending you hugs :grouphug: Your family is so lucky to have you. Take some time for yourself if you can, before you once again become the rock face your family clings to.
Fuddle:- You are right, it's not the end of the world if the children have a day off. Our forecast is carp tonight and tomorrow, so a stay at home and bake with Mam day will be the safest option.
Popperwell:- I was singing all those songs as I read them!:D
Cheapskate:- Good for you, It's a hard decision but it will be good for you and your family in the long run.
Moments of sanity:- I hope your situation improves and your DH find a job soon.:grouphug:

A friend has recently been told that he will lose his job this year. He started at the one place when he was 16 and has been there 41 years. How he will cope with interviews and the process of being unemployed is difficult to say. He is a lovely bloke but has been out of the jobs 'market' for so long, he is going to find it hard to adjust.:(

  • Morning Toughies, my birdie friends were all sitting on the edge of the pond this morning, facing the kitchen door and willing it open!!!! They are so hungry poor things, I am going to go through the cupboards this morning to see if anything has gone out of date to feed then with. I found they dont take peanuts and seed from the feeders but it dissapears readily enough when it's mixed in with everything else and scattered.

POPS I am so glad you enjoyed your concert last night, that you didn't want it to end and also that you got back safely ... all this and chocolate too has got to be a good thing, yes? Have an easy day today and catch up with yourself, you young things and your mad social whirl, long may it continue!!!!!

FUDDLE well done pet, I am so pleased you got on fine with the new car - does she have a name yet? I can just picture Alfie Puppy sitting in the window blowing kisses to the snow dog, how cute is that?

Have a lovely day everyone, and stay nice and snuggled in the warm if you can. If you can't because you have to go out, take lots and lots of care and get there and back home safely, Cheers Lyn xxx.

    Meme30,
Of course there are some great songs today but these have staying power and they really did know how to write music. And so many of today's musicians(even heavy/metal rock)artists admit to growing up listening to such music and still do and how many artists are making a career out of this back catelogue still...Michael Buble for one. Even Jason Donovon brought a CD not so long ago.

Anyone who likes their music radio and I know someone asked last week(Michael Ball's new show starts tonight)I hope that it will be as good as the trailers suggest.

If I knew that I had the money and also was free in June the band are doing three days at some kind of holiday resort(Holiday Camp seems a wrong description)and on the third day they are adding strings to the orchestra and are going to play a Hollywood Prom night.

It's snowing here again. My children will be very pleased if there's no school tomorrow!

I don't remember my schools ever being closed due to bad weather or is that just a bad memory...

    Morning all

Fuddle - congrats on the car!

Kidkat - give the physio department a call and explain the pain, they might be able to squeeze you in earlier. We put down for a cancellation appointment for DHs new neuro physio and we had a call at 10am on Thursday offering an appointment that afternoon. They currently have a 16 week waiting list so we were lucky to get in so soon.

Cheapskate - nice to see you posting, you're doing the right thing x

Well it's a white out here, snow still from Friday and it's been snowing hard since 8am, can't see where the roads and pavements meet and there's no buses running through the village which means DD1 can't get to work, she's gone back to bed! I'm going to drag both DDs out later for some sledging. Going to shove a beef stew in the SC first so the house will smell lovely when we get back.
