Planting a tree, how long to soak the rootball for?

I would soak it for several hours before planting.
When you do plant it, make sure there are no air pockets in between the roots. Gently shake the shrub / tree a littleafter you've put a little soil over the roots, to shake down the soil between the roots and make sure it's watered in well after it's firmed in.Heirs together of the grace of life0 -
When you submerge the rootball in the bucket of water, lots of bubbles come to the surface. When the bubbles stop, move the tree around in the bucket. The bubbles will start again. Keep doing this until you don't get any bubbles when you move the rootball around. You'll find it's well and truly soaked.
