Does it have a clasp? If you open it up, and look closely it will say ALE 925 if it is genuine. Also where it says Pandora on the clasp, there should be a little crown on top of the O to show it's authenticity.

I know it's a bit cheeky, but you could just go into a Pandora store and say your daughter/niece has this item, and you were intending on getting your other daughter/neice the same thing, and would they be kind enough to check if they have any in stock and if so, what the size and price etc is. Then just give them some b/s about being paid next week and that you will come to buy it then?

Having said that, if it's not brand new, I doubt you will get much for it on eBay. There are a lot of brand new ones on there where people have the receipt too and those sell for at least £10 to £20 less than the actual price they cost.

Just as an aside, older Pandora necklaces/bracelets do not have the crown over the 'o', because they did not come with the crown before 2008.

Gosh, thanks. Have just checked back and seen all the replies.

I'm in no doubt its genuine, and I know exactly which shop it came from (but sadly about 300miles away from where I live now), but I can't prove it. I'm guessing if I go down the gumtree/preloved route then its up to the buyer whether they want to buy it without a receipt? Could there be any comeback afterwards if the buyer then claimed it was fake?

Its not even the money, its just such a waste to have it sat in a drawer and I really dont know what to do with it. Am trying to declutter as much as poss :)
