    Thanks for the responses guys,

Asparagus1968: The £10 account fee is to stop me having to pay £30 a month in overdraft charges as I am well over my free £300 overdraft I should be paying £1 per day. My bills all come out at the beginning of the month so I have been in the red straight after being paid for as long as I can remember. hopefully not for long though!

    MonkeyBalls:
    1. My mobile is quite high and I probably could keep my Iphone and get a sim only but my contract doesn't end until next Jan. I guess it depends what kind of condition my phone is in by then :)
    2. I was looking at my Spreadsheet yesterday and the £10 Bank account fee (to avoid is more than the interest on my Argos account so for now the Overdraft is still my priority
    3. I stopped smoking Cigarettes, its this Ecig that I am now hooked on!!! I'm trying I promise ;)

    Thanks Again Guys :D

Cool :) Methinks there's no flies on you!

Well done on the Cigarettes, an Ecig is much better for you so I'll let you off... For now... ;)

You're possibly already doing this but just in case you're not, you might want to look into one of the cash back sites such as Quidco to help build up a little extra over the course of a year? Every little helps!

  • Your story started off just like mine but my OH went back to uni and is now back in work. It's such a struggle bringing in the only income.

Sounds like you're back on track and, just like me can see the light at the end of the tunnel!

I wish you lots of luck for your onward journey to debt-freedom!

HEy and well done so far.

Looking through your SOA, your internet looks a bit high - £10 liner rental + £21 broadband? Can you downgrade/change this? I had £6 internet for several years, and it was fine for youtube and even light gaming. See if you can save money there.

Do you really set aside £50/mo for christmas? Do you need to?

I also agree your mobile bill looks high. Once you near end of contract, see if you can negotiate sim only prices ratehr than renewing your phone. I kept my iphone an extra year, paying £15/mo instead of £35, and then sold the phone for £180!

Hope you're getting on well, anyway.

Had a bit of a slip and ordered 2 pairs of jeans and a silk shirt on my Next account!

Panicing a bit but its only £50 and I can pay it off next month, just keep thinking "that could have gone on my Overdraft/ Argos card"

However: I have been on a diet since New Years and have lost some weight so the reason I bought the jeans was because they are a smaller size, the shirt I just liked.

Will not slip back into putting things on Store Cards!!!!

    Get a grip Laura :)
