And still no call from area manager! :(

Don't get your hopes up, Halfords policy seems to be not to call customers back. I've been promised call backs time and time again and never get one.

They were rated as number 1 for customer service a while back on the suns website. They'll go the same way as woolworths before long.

Recently been having the exact problem with talktalk - googled for CEO emails and seem to be making progress with the issue. I'm sure the CEO will never actually get the email, but I think you get the next level of customer service (beyond the no call back/computer says no people.)

Mention you are discussing and asking for help it on public forums - any sane company would try and avoid the bad publicity (although as TrickyWicky says I wouldn't be at all surprised or unhappy to see them go the same way as woolies.)

Are you 100% sure it was not done before going to halfords did you check before driving there.

I only ask as I work at a garage and a customer came back in the other week saying we damaged her car and noticed 2 days later.

She came in to the garage and I showed here cctv for the hour her car was on site and it shows her looking at the bumper where damage was. She left and said sorry for making me look at camera footage.

I did have a garage damage my car years ago and knew it was them as I washed the car before the visit, they paid for the repair.

The reason I am 100% sure is my car is parked in a secure gated drive. It had not been used since I had had the bonnet up to fill jet washers. I had taken out small leaves trapped in the areas where there is damage so would have seen damage. Headlamp was hanging out and dent/scrape still had marks/paint flakes from where it had hit or bumped into something.

I am really disappointed, if they had said and agreed to fix I would have been ok about it, but its the total washing hands of responsibility that upsets me. I can honestly say if I was not 100% sure I would not waste anyones time. :(
  • did you check your mileage before and after ?

  • I'm afraid if the halfords staff had done it, the second you left their premises , they've got all the grounds they need to say they've haven't done it . I doubt they'll admit to it . If they were responsible for it like u say they are . If u had , before leaving brought it to their attention . You would have a very strong case against them .

You can take them to small claim courts . But read above ? Or write a letter to their CEO , ????

My car's parked in a secure car park all day, and on the drive at night, and there's a scrape down the rear door that the dealer actually noticed when they cleaned it (It was so dirty I hadn't noticed it was there when it went in).

I don't think it was them, and I know it wasn't me/OH, but I don't know where it's come from.

    Could it be something similar?

Not if you read the OP posts and accept their version.

OP if halfords deny it, not sure if there is anything you can do.

Do they have any CCTV...its a long shot

I think you can probably see where I'm coming from here, though?
