I would definitely contact.
Once you are at the "ready to exchange" stage, then all the advisers, esp Solicitors & EAs, start to cover their backs and make sure they can demonstrate that they are "protecting your interests". I find that they tend to be over cautious and "warn" you about things that might not really be a big issue with the other side.
Or - as has been said - that they cover their own ar8e8 if they've been less than efficient or created a potential problem :mad:
Think about it from your own point of view - wouldn't you want the buyer to contact you and tell you exactly where they stand? At least that way you get their view and not something watered down by a middle-man.

Yep, definitely get in touch with them.
As long as you approach them in a freindly way ie "is there anything I can do to move things along? Is there a problem I can help with" etc. Bear in mind there might be a genuine problem with their property or a change of circumstances ie illness, redundancy so be prepared if it turns out they really cannot go ahead. If this is the case they are going to be feeling bad anyway and even might not want to talk to you.
However, if its something that can be sorted, and many problems can be even down to negotiating a drop in price all the way down the chain, its worth a call to save the sale and y You might be putting their minds at rest too.
As a previous post said, you are both forking out a lot of money to move and if it can be resolved by a quick chat then thats brilliant.

If I hadn't kept in contact with ouy buyer the chain would have collapsed. Most of the time I informed HIM or problems that he needed to sort out at his end that he wasn't even aware of (suffice to say, his sol, broker and mortgage co were c++p) - as were my EA.
I do not ever want to more again but I would strongly advise you to keep in constant telephone contact with your vendor/buyer if at all possible to make sure that things are kept moving.0
