OP, I'm impressed with your Mum having an iPad. I haven't yet gone that far, although I've used a computer for many years now and don't know what I'd do without it. I had an email yesterday from Apple with details of their latest, £269 I think. I can see I'll probably end up going down that route, but need to pay off my credit card first before I buy anything else. Banking online allows me to do all those things, and even to help my eldest GD when she needs it - only yesterday I put through a payment online to her and it arrived in her account almost immediately. Did your Mum buy the iPad or was it a present?Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.
Before I found wisdom, I became old.0

i was also looking at the post office one but dont like the fact they dictate were your money can be spent ,so Ive bought a Christmas savings tin [one that needs a can opener to get into] and im going to put cash in every month. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Nationwide have a treasurers account.
I used one for years when I ran at savings club (for Christmas) at work.
You get a passbook and can draw the money out in cash (large amounts with prior notice) or as a cheque.
You can have more than one signatory - in case something happens to someone - the interest paid is paltry. But is quite simple to set up and run.
