    Hiya,

Not sure if this will help, but if you already have a PAYG phone not a lot of folks realise you can actually get money towards an upgrade from your network based on your spending activity and how long you have been with the network.

I've a friend who two weeks ago got a Sony Erriccson k750i on O2 as an upgrade and paid £22.50 towards it. She got £68.50 towards the phone.

Another friend got a free basic upgraded phone from Virgin worth £40 and £8 from quidco. Her £40 was based upon £10 towards an upgrade per £100 she had spent in the last couple of years I believe, but alas I have no idea how O2 decide on their prices.

I've a couple of friends who are trying to pluck up the courage to phone about upgrades with t-mobile and vodaphone who both also do the PAYG upgrades. If they finally do it, i'll post the details in here.

You can do it directly through the network by phoning them, or go into many of the mobile shops, be it the main network shop or other outlet and they can do it for you. In fact if you have an online account, you can do your upgrade through there. (That's how I did my friends virgin upgrade, plus quidco). Although with I think it was phones4u, they didn't discount the phone, but put your upgrade money on as a credit to your phone.

Hope this makes sense and helps.

The cheapest place I've found it so far is at Carphone Warehouse: http://shop.carphonewarehouse.com/pay-as-you-go/sony-ericsson/w810i/

Price ranges from £99 to £119.95 depending on the Network you choose.

    Plus £5 off for Quidco!

    Hi rudz,

You should get more replies on the Mobile Phones board so I've moved your thread over there.
