Do you have to disconnect every hour?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

I had BT Light User and dial up for years. You can either pay £15/month for unlimited access or just use it now and then and pay per minute. But you're effectivly paying double normal call charges if you do it that way.
You can't have a broadband ADSL line and have a Light User Contract.
So I recommend Force9. It's £9.99/month for broadband with free connection and hardware. Which is typically £60 a year cheaper than most dial up contracts. Dial up is on it's way out and ISP's don't like paying to maintain modem banks anymore because they are expensive. So although you have to be on BT Option 1 the money you loose paying BT, you save on your Internet.0
