BT Together Option 1

We have just moved house and so for the moment we are on BT Together Option 1 as we don't make many calls and at the moment can't afford broadband. We will be getting broadband within the next few months but for the moment I'm gonna downgrade back down to a dial up connection just for checking emails etc.

My question is that are the 0845 numbers used by dial up providers inclusive in the 5.5p for an hour tariff of Option 1? ie. if i connected to the internet for 1 hour off peak on an 0845 or similar non geographic number would I be charged the flat rate of 5.5p or a certain amount per minute? If so does anyone know how much per min it would be, I can't seem to find it on BT's site.

Thanks

BT's 5.5p for up to an hour evenings and weekends applies only to UK 01/02 calls (not 084/087).

However, an ISP with an 02xx number .....

    Does that work?

Would ISP stop it in some way.

    EDITED:

Just tested it and it did connect, did not stay on long and cost was 5p.

How would an ISP stop you making a telephone call?

Yeah I thought about it after, blonde moment.

I do have broadband but a relative uses Dialup so it would be good for him.

And yes I had dialup and broadband connected at same time, I use it when sending a FAX.

Normally my modem is disabled in system so that no rogue dialer can use it.

calls to an ISP on a geo number (01/02) are excluded from BT Together Option prices. These calls are classed as internet calls (data), and normal call charges will apply of 4ppm daytime 1ppm eve and weekend, 3pence call set up fee per call.

Using 1899 is not using BT option 1 or any other BT option.

Maybe I will do a longer test and check that cost.
