Help with Unlocking iPhone 4

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know of a trusted website that will be able to unlock my iphone 4 please. It is locked to T mobile, but they won't do it as I did not buy the phone from them.

I am so confused as there are so many unlocking sites, but I never know which ones are scammers and which ones are actually decent companies.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am no expert, but I think it's £60+ for a proper permanent unlocking.

    Hi Guys.

There are effectively two ways to unlock an iPhone.

    1. Jailbreak. This is a term for using software to hack or alter your iPhones operating system (iOS). Download some software, connect your iPhone to your PC, follow the instructions and Bingo! your iPhone is unlocked. There are some downsides to consider; the software won't come with technical support. It WILL invalidate your warranty. If it is successful - the majority aren't - the phone will only be in unlocked until the next time you update your iPhone's iOS. I think most iPhone users, like me, take advantage of the latest updates released by Apple. After all an iPhone isn't just for Christmas!

    2. Factory unlock. The simple truth is that the only safe way to permanently, safely unlock an iPhone without invalidating the warranty is to add your iPhone's IMEI number to Apple's 'whitelist'. This can be requested via your network, or a third party reseller. It is not cheap. If someone claims they can do this for a couple of quid they should be treated with healthy suspicion at the very least.

I spent a long time researching iPhone unlocking and eventually chose a website officialiphoneunlocking.com . It took 24hrs to unlock my Amercian iPhone from AT&T and 7 days to unlock my GF's from Vodafone.
I paid £40 and £50 respectively. The networks didn't want to know because we were still in the original contract. You can be the judge on the value for money. I'll save well over £90 using local SIM cards when we travel in the New Year so it makes sense to us.

Hope this helps, happy to answer any questions. I may write a little blog on the iPhone unlocking biz one day!

I have heard that once your contract has finished and you've effectively paid for the phone and it's yours then your network provider should unlock your phone free
