It always was horrible as far as I'm concerned. I made a decision when I was about six years old that I wasn't going to watch or listen to the news any more as I found it far too upsetting. That was 35 years ago.
Well that may work. But my tip to you is if people stare, miniskirts are out.;)0 -

Try this - the Daily Mail headline generator.
I've given up on anything except the World Service, and try to find nice things to read about about too.
Thanks for this it's had me in stitches, here's some of the best ones:
HAS THE METRIC SYSTEM HAD SEX WITH THE QUEEN?
HAS DUMBING-DOWN TURNED ENGLAND GAY?
HAS THE BBC KILLED BRITAIN'S FARMERS?
WILL THE POLES HAVE SEX WITH CLIFF RICHARD?
WILL FOXES CHEAT TAXPAYERS?
IS FACEBOOK HAVING SEX WITH YOU?
COULD CHANNEL 4 MOLEST THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY?0 -
My personal favourites are:
ARE FOXES MAKING THE MIDDLE CLASSES OBESE?
COULD GAYS DEFRAUD YOUR MORTGAGE?
WILL LESBIANS STEAL FROM THE MEMORY OF DIANA?
It does you good to laugh. Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Only the Daily Wail could generate such nonsense!
I'd love to be a fly on the wall during their editorial meetings - must be hilarious!"Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?" (Douglas Adams)0 -

Hmm, I think The Poles and Facebook have infinitely better taste.
Jury's still out on Channel 4 though!Public appearances now involve clothing. Sorry, it's part of my bail conditions.0 -
There are good points to the day.. I have a little gadget on my phone line, it knows many spam callers numbers and I teach it new ones when they get through and it also spots 'number unknown' calls. Anyway as soon as any of the above call its hangs up on them without letting the phone ring. I only know how many because the phone records the number of missed calls. So to the half dozen fake microsoft support, PPI claim lines and free insulation callers today... eat my dial tone!!!0

The big thing with all you Daily Mail haters is you don't like what it says so you try to convince yourselves - and others - it's all lies.
My parallel universe is where everyone takes responsibility for themselves instead of blaming the bankers, coalation etc for their own failings.........................0 -

An interesting point.. a lot of people got angry over the bankers but human nature is self interest and the bankers were in a position to cut themselves a large slice of the pie so of course.. did.
If the people that got upset were put in the same position with the keys to the sweety box, how many would remain on the high horse and not dip in themselves?
After all the 'evil' bankers are people the same as the rest of us, no more or less moral or greedy - just luckier.
Who remembers the film 'Trading Places' ?0 -

Well said.
There is a reason why some MPs and some bankers are crooks.
It is because some people are crooks and MPs and bankers are people.
It always irritates me when people say "all MPs are crooks".........0 -

It irritates me that we have a fantastic MP who works really hard for our town, even voting against her leadership if the people ask it. It irritates that I have to vote against her next election because there are bigger fish at stake, I am sorry but I can't risk what her leadership have done/plan to do to the country.0
