Call me cynical, but do you happen to work for them?

looks like they probably do as they are also a newbie member
  • A total disgrace of a company - avoid at all costs.
  • Hi everyone , nice to be on this amazing forum, just wanted to add my experience with DreamsPLC . Ordered a bed 3 wks ago ,from their " Sale"( Lightening Fast Delivery!! Excellent customer service , LOL ). Having done some research on here ,it would appear that they are having a laugh at customers right from the word go! It is, I take it from their customer helpline, standard practice, to make you wait a month, for your bed, not to answer E mails ,unless it suits them , and not to answer the phone or cut you off. Considering they take your money ,the day you order over the net ,and make you wait 28 days ,its a disgrace. While I am resigned to waiting the month ,(why is their no stock of a sale item for gods sake!) I have considered trying to ask for my money back ,but not sure if thats an easy thing to do?
As I said ,nice to be here !
  • My advice is NEVER EVER buy ANYTHING from this store - and if anyone you know is thinking of doing so, save them a lot of pain, heartache and misery by advising them NOT to.

I couldn't agree more and so wish I'd seen this post before buying my bed from the Sleep Depot. They have caused me extreme stress for the last 9 months. When eventually the bed did arrive (not on time!) it was faulty and to make matters worse the delivery men caused extensive damage to the walls of our brand new house. It took 5 months to get a replacement bed (the phone at customer services kept ringing out) and then they didn't pick up the faulty bed. This has now been cluttering up our house for four months. I have taken time off (twice, and at my own expense) to allow collection twice but they have never turned up. Still no sign of any compensation. They've just ground me down so much that I'm just going to get rid of the bed and pay for the repairs myself. I'm so out of pocket already I can't afford to wait in again. DON'T DON'T DON'T buy a bed from them. They're cold, incompetent, liars.
  • Just a quick up date on the Sleep Depot, hope you guys have your problems sorted now as they went into administration at 4pm Monday so no more Sleep Depot
  • I have had a nightmare with nosleep depot.
I ordered the Maestro King Bed from them on 2nd March and paid by Credit Card. I picked up the bed from store on the 20th March and as I was going away I did not assemble it until 22nd March evening.
When the stuff was picked up none of the boxes had been opened and all looked in order. When I assembled the bed all of the side slat holders were missing which resulted in me having to tape the slats down.
I contacted them by phone on 25th March and explained what had happened and was assured that a full set would be ordered on Tuesday and I would have these by Thursday.
I went into the store on Friday as these had not been received and I was advised that there was more coming into stock on 31 March and a set would be posted and if I had not got these by Thursday (Today) then to go back into the store.
So when I got home from work today nothing had arrived so I went down to the store only to find out that they had gone into administartion on 31 March
My prediciment is that I have a bed with no Side Slat holders and looks like I have no way of getting them as I do not know who themanufacturer is to contact them as it is not on any of my paperwork.
I have contacted my Credit Card issuer and spoke to them but I am stuck with an incomplete bed. I dont know what to do. Any advice?

Do you still have any of the packaging, and if so is there anything written on it?

  • i too have a faulty bed from sleep depot/ bed depot, whatever they call themselves!! ordered the bed 3rd march then collected it a week later, built the bed up approx a week after that to find it was the wrong colour, was scratched, dented, had someone elses name in the inside of the box and there is a weld on the headboard that looks ready to snap any minute! called into the shop and was promised a replacement, after phoning to check where the new bed was and getting no reply i finally got through on monday, was told the shop was shutting cos the staff were all sick, and could i call back in the morning? called back in the morning , no reply , so called the land of leather number as they are located in the same shop, was told they had gone into admin! got a number to call for the administrators, 01618384539, i have called and it is a recorded message asking you to leave your details and someone will return your call. as yet no-one has called me back.
i too called my credit card as i thought i could claim for the faulty product through them? apparently not?
Does anyone know if there is any comeback via my credit card, as i thought that gave protection in these suituations, and has anyone managed to speak with the administrators yet, how long do these receivers take to get in touch and what chance of compensation is likely? oh also are this bunch anything to do with land of leather as they seem to be in lots of their stores?
